Synergistic Bi–Te Antisite Defects and Crystalline‐Amorphous Hybrid Structure Enable Record‐High Thermoelectric Performance in Flexible Bi2Te2.7Se0.3 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 25, 1 July 2026.
Flexible n‐type Bi2Te3 thin films require improved room‐temperature figure of merit (ZT) and mechanical stability. We show that synergistic Bi–Te antisite tuning and crystalline–amorphous hybridization optimizes carrier concentration, mobility, and phonon scattering.

Modulating Membrane Surface Properties via Prewetting With Polysorbate 20 to Improve Sterile Filtration of Nanoemulsions

open access: yesBiotechnology Journal, Volume 21, Issue 7, July 2026.
Graphical Abstract and Lay Summary Nanoemulsions are promising vaccine adjuvants and drug delivery vehicles. In this work, we have demonstrated that sterile filtration performance can be significantly enhanced by prewetting the sterile filter with Polysorbate 20 to increase the hydrophilicity of the sterile filter.

Thermoelectric MOFs and Machine Learning Databases for Prediction of Next Generation Materials

open access: yesEcoMat, Volume 8, Issue 7, July 2026.
Machine learning prediction of next generation thermoelectric MOFs using new databases. Three stages of training, validation, and prediction are developed based on a comprehensive review of conductive MOFs. ABSTRACT Electrically conducting metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have been studied over the last two decades and more recently research has gained ...

Mobile electromagnetic levitator for time‐resolved in situ X‐ray diffraction studies of high‐temperature phase transformations

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 4, Page 1022-1035, July 2026.
A mobile electromagnetic levitator combined with time‐resolved synchrotron X‐ray diffraction enables in situ studies of high‐temperature phase transformations without container‐induced contamination and reveals the first direct observation of metastable phase formation in undercooled Fe–Co alloys. In situ observations of high‐temperature transformations,

Gepta‐EX: a multi‐channel germanium detector for X‐ray absorption fine structure

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 33, Issue 4, Page 1016-1021, July 2026.
Gepta‐EX is a compact seven‐channel high‐purity germanium detector designed to deliver high‐resolution fluorescence X‐ray absorption fine‐structure measurements at photon energies where silicon detectors become effectively transparent. It provides excellent energy resolution across a broad energy range, avoids silicon escape‐peak artifacts, and offers ...
