“On Water” Photochemistry: Visible‐Light‐Induced Synthesis of Diaryl Sulfides by Nitrogen Extrusion

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 3, Issue 6, November 11, 2025.
This study demonstrates an efficient and versatile blue light‐mediated synthesis of dissymmetric diaryl sulfides by nitrogen photoextrusion from diarylazo sulfides. The reaction is carried out “on water” without the need for (photo)catalysts or additives.

QTL mapping of genome regions controlling temephos resistance in larvae of the mosquito Aedes aegypti. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, 2014
The mosquito Aedes aegypti is the principal vector of dengue and yellow fever flaviviruses. Temephos is an organophosphate insecticide used globally to suppress Ae.

COMPARATIVE TOXICITIES OF FOUR WHO-RECOMMENDED LARVICIDES AGAINST LAB STRAIN OF ANOPHELES STEPHENSI IN IRAN [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Public Health, 1999
Investigation on the current response of An.stephensi larvae to four WHO recommended larvicides, i.e. Malathion, temephos, chlorpyrifos and fenitrothion, were carried out in the laboratory in 1999. Diagnostic concentrations of pesticides only yielded 100%

Investigation of mosquito oviposition pheromone as lethal lure for the control of Aedes aegypti (L.) (Diptera: Culicidae)

open access: yesParasites & Vectors, 2015
Background The trend in chemical insecticide development has focused on improving the efficacy against mosquitoes while reducing the environmental impact. Lethal lures apply an “attract-and-kill” strategy that draws the insect to the killing agent rather

Comparative toxicity of larvicides and growth inhibitors on Aedes aegypti from select areas in Jamaica [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2020
Insecticide resistance has become problematic in tropical and subtropical regions, where Aedes mosquitoes and Aedes-borne arboviral diseases thrive.

Structure‐Based Screening of Amides with Potential to Overcome Aedes aegypti Insecticide Resistance

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 10, Issue 35, September 16, 2025.
Given the great insecticidal potential of compounds containing the amide function, the present study applied the structure‐based virtual screening (SBVS) strategy through docking and molecular dynamics to screen more than 27,000 amides from a ChemBL library and identify potential inhibitors of important Aedes aegypti enzymes that can overcome ...

Comparative Proteomics of Resistant and Susceptible Strains of Frankliniella occidentalis to Abamectin

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, Volume 46, Issue 1-2, Page 112-126, January 2025.
ABSTRACT Western flower thrips, Frankliniella occidentalis (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) is an invasive agricultural pest with developed resistance to abamectin in some strains due to frequent treatment with the pesticide. In this study, we examined differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) between abamectin‐resistant (AbaR; under abamectin selective ...

Efficacy of Spinosad Granules and Lambda-Cyhalothrin Contrasts with Reduced Performance of Temephos for Control of Aedes spp. in Vehicle Tires in Veracruz, Mexico

open access: yesInsects, 2019
The present study examined the efficacy of λ-cyhalothrin, pyriproxyfen and granular formulations of spinosad and temephos for the control of mosquito larvae present in experimental tires in Veracruz State, Mexico in the period 2015−2016. Both &

Larva Aedes Aegypti Sudah Toleran Terhadap Temepos Di Kota Banjarbaru, Kalimantan Selatan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
. Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever has been being problem in public health. The vector control program is a way to break transmission. Temephos (Abate) has been used as larvicides in the DHF control program since 1976.
