Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

Temperature-Sombor and Temperature-Nirmala Indices

open access: yesINTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF MATHEMATICS AND COMPUTER RESEARCH, 2022
In this paper, we introduce the temperature-Sombor index, modified temperature-Sombor index and temperature-Nirmala index of a graph. Also we compute these temperature indices for some standard graphs and tetrameric 1,3-adamantane. Furthermore, we establish some properties of newly defined temperature-Sombor index and temperature-Nirmala index.

Unlocking the potential of tumor‐derived DNA in urine for cancer detection: methodological challenges and opportunities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urine is a rich source of biomarkers for cancer detection. Tumor‐derived material is released into the bloodstream and transported to the urine. Urine can easily be collected from individuals, allowing non‐invasive cancer detection. This review discusses the rationale behind urine‐based cancer detection and its potential for cancer diagnostics ...

Temperature

open access: yesSecondary Metabolites of Medicinal Plants, 2020
This study reported the performance of a newly developed time-resolved pulsing system by investigating the components of time-resolved optically stimulated luminescence (TR-OSL) signal from carbon-doped aluminium oxide, α-Al 2 O 3 :C, a material of ...

Fastest Frozen Temperature for a Thermodynamic System [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
For a thermodynamic system obeying both the equipartition theorem in high temperature and the third law in low temperature, the curve showing relationship between the specific heat and the temperature has two common behaviors:\ it terminates at zero when the temperature is zero Kelvin and converges to a constant as temperature is higher and higher ...

Sensing temperature [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Biology, 2013
Temperature is an omnipresent physical variable reflecting the rotational, vibrational and translational motion of matter, what Richard Feynman called the "jiggling" of atoms. Temperature varies across space and time, and this variation has dramatic effects on the physiology of living cells.

Draft genome sequence of Desulfoplanes formicivorans Pf12BT, a sulfate-reducing bacterium of the family Desulfomicrobiaceae

open access: yesStandards in Genomic Sciences, 2017
Desulfoplanes formicivorans strain Pf12BT is the type strain of the type species in the genus Desulfoplanes, which is the one of the genera in the family Desulfomicrobiaceae within the order Desulfovibrionales. This deltaproteobacterium was isolated from

Transport Properties of Film and Bulk Sr0.98Zr0.95Y0.05O3−δ Membranes

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
In electrode-supported solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) with a thin electrolyte, the electrolyte performance can be affected by its interaction with the electrode, therefore, it is particularly important to study the charge transport properties of thin ...

Finite temperature regularization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We present a non-perturbative regularization scheme for Quantum Field Theories which amounts to an embedding of the originally unregularized theory into a spacetime with an extra compactified dimensions of length L ~ Lambda^{-1} (with Lambda an ...

Curie and Neel Temperatures of Quantum Magnets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We estimate, using high-temperature series expansions, the transition temperatures of the spin 1/2, 1 and 3/2 Heisenberg ferromagnet and antiferromagnet in 3-dimensions. The manner in which the difference between Curie and Neel temperatures vanishes with increasing spin quantum number is investigated.
