Performance of carbon nanomaterials incorporated with concrete exposed to high temperature

open access: yesNanotechnology Reviews
In recent decades, there have been initiatives to incorporate carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) into cement composites, particularly graphene oxide (GO), carbon nanotubes, graphite (GP), and mild carbon (MC).

METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF THE CHARACTERISTIC CURVE OF THE THERMAL INERTIA OF AIRCRAFT GAS TEMPERATURE SENSORS

open access: yesПриборы и методы измерений, 2017
The effectiveness of correction of the dynamic characteristics of gas temperature sensors in automatic control systems for the operation of aircraft gas turbine engines depends on the accuracy of the time constants of the sensors used from heat exchange ...

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Pyrolysis temperature optimization of biochar from tobacco stalk and its physicochemical characterization

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2016
Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) is an important commercial crop planted in China. Generally, tobacco stalks were burnt in the field after harvest, causing severe air pollution.

Characterisation of HTSC ceramics from their resistive transition

open access: yes, 1997
The resistivity vs. temperature relation in bulk ceramic HTSC under self-field conditions as well as in weak external magnetic fields is modelled by local Lorentz force induced fluxon motion with temperature dependent pinning. A pinning force density and

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Nonequilibrium dynamics of a simple stochastic model

open access: yes, 1997
We investigate the low-temperature dynamics of a simple stochastic model, introduced recently in the context of the physics of glasses. The slowest characteristic time at equilibrium diverges exponentially at low temperature.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Fluctuations of Goldstone modes and the chiral transition in QCD

open access: yes, 2008
We provide evidence for the influence of thermal fluctuations of Goldstone modes on the chiral condensate at finite temperature.

TEMPERATURE CHARACTERISTICS FOR THE GROWTH OF THE SPORANGIOPHORES OF PHYCOMYCES [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Physiology, 1928
1. With constant temperature and light intensity, the rate of elongation of a sporangiophore of Phycomyces is constant for many hours. 2. With constant light intensity, values of µ, the "critical thermal increment," have been computed for the elongation of different sporangiophores.
