THE EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON FLOWERS [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1929
This paper is concerned with the opening and closing processes in the flowers of Crocus and Tulipa. As is well known from the work of Pfeffer, the flowers of Crocus and Tulipa are only slightly photonastic. They are, however, extremely thermonastic. As regards this thermonastic response Crocus is much more sensitive than Tulipa.

Influence of frozen soil on the seismic responses of bridge structures considering the effect of temperature

open access: yes地质科技通报, 2023
Objective Recently, the seismic damage of an actual bridge structure in a frozen soil area has shown that the presence of frozen soil will increase the lateral stiffness of the bridge foundation, which may cause more serious seismic damage to the bridge ...

Review on the Influence of Temperature upon Hydrogen Effects in Structural Alloys

open access: yesMetals, 2021
It is well-documented experimentally that the influence of hydrogen on the mechanical properties of structural alloys like austenitic stainless steels, nickel superalloys, and carbon steels strongly depends on temperature.

EFFECT OF AMBIENT TEMPERATURE ON THERMODYNAMIC TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENTS

open access: yesAdvanced Information Systems, 2022
The development of science and technology is closely related to the use of measuring instruments. Measurements are one of the ways to know nature as a process and help to make scientific discoveries and apply these discoveries in production and technology. Measurements are also of great importance as the only means of monitoring technological processes

Experimental Testing of PV Module Performance

open access: yesTehnički Glasnik, 2021
This study compares the manufacturer's technical data of several PV modules with real measured outdoor technical data. The irradiance effect on several PV modules is examined by the changing a tilt angle and comparing different meteorological situations ...

Rapid liquid–liquid extraction of thallium(III) from succinate media with 2-octylaminopyridine in chloroform as the extractant [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2008
A simple solvent extraction study of thallium(III) was conducted. Selective and quantitative extraction of thallium(III) by 2-octylaminopyridine (2-OAP) in chloroform occurred from aqueous sodium succinate medium (0.0075 M) at pH 3.0.

Final Setting Judgment and Safety Evaluation of Mass Concrete Based on Strain Monitoring

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
A judgment method of the final setting time of mass concrete based on strain monitoring and the selection criterion of the starting point of effective deformation are proposed, and the safety of the concrete structure is evaluated based on this. Firstly,

The effective temperature of the sun [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of London, 1902
Abstract In March, 1894, Dr. G. Johnstone Stoney communicated to the Society a memoir by myself and Mr. P. L. Gray, entitled “Experimental Investigations on the Effective Temperature of the Sun,” which was published in the ‘Phil. Trans.,’ A, vol. 185 (1894).

Numerical Simulation on an Ultra-Large Seven-Ring Internal Support System Considering the Effects of Soil–Structure Interaction and Temperature

open access: yesBuildings
The foundation pit area of Kunming International Comprehensive Transportation Hub is 56,800 m2, and the excavation depth ranges from 18 m to 25 m. Because the surrounding environment is very complex, the foundation pit is supported by an underground ...
