PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.

Microstructure evolution and enhanced cryogenic toughness of laser welded dissimilar SA645/AISI304L joints via intercritical tempering

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
In this study, we explored the impact of intercritical tempering on the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of dissimilar welds formed through laser welding between 5%Ni steel (SA645) and austenitic stainless steel (AISI304L).

Parallel Excluded Volume Tempering for Polymer Melts

open access: yes, 2000
We have developed a technique to accelerate the acquisition of effectively uncorrelated configurations for off-lattice models of dense polymer melts which makes use of both parallel tempering and large scale Monte Carlo moves.

A simple asynchronous replica-exchange implementation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We discuss the possibility of implementing asynchronous replica-exchange (or parallel tempering) molecular dynamics. In our scheme, the exchange attempts are driven by asynchronous messages sent by one of the computing nodes, so that different replicas ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Mechanical and Microstructural Behavior of Tempered CPM® 3V High-Density Sintered Tool Steel

open access: yesCrystals, 2022
The tempering response of CPM® 3V tool steel was investigated via a hardening and tempering heat treatment, tensile testing, fractography, and microstructural evaluation.

Finding Low-Temperature States with Parallel Tempering, Simulated Annealing and Simple Monte Carlo

open access: yes, 2002
Monte Carlo simulation techniques, like simulated annealing and parallel tempering, are often used to evaluate low-temperature properties and find ground states of disordered systems.

Parallel Tempering Simulation of the three-dimensional Edwards-Anderson Model with Compact Asynchronous Multispin Coding on GPU [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Monte Carlo simulations of the Ising model play an important role in the field of computational statistical physics, and they have revealed many properties of the model over the past few decades. However, the effect of frustration due to random disorder,

Effect of tempering temperature and time on microstructure and mechanical properties of 26MnB5 martensitic steel tubes

open access: yesProcedia Structural Integrity, 2019
Anti-roll bar, sway or stabilizer bar, is a part of automobile suspension system. It connects the right and left of the vehicle and resists swaying of the vehicle in sharp curves or road irregularities.

Acute caffeine treatment protects the developing retina from ischemia‐induced cell death

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caffeine reduces cell death in the developing retina under ischemia (OGD). This effect does not involve BDNF upregulation or antioxidant pathways (NRF2/VEGF). Neuroprotection occurs mainly through adenosine A2A receptor antagonism, decreasing glutamate release and excitotoxicity, highlighting caffeine's potential as an acute neuroprotective agent in ...
