Surface Properties of Float Glass after Various Types of Heat Treatment

open access: yesХімія, фізика та технологія поверхні, 2014
The surface properties of float glass tempered by air and by contact method have been studied. Air tempering was performed by traditional method, contact one was realized by a new method when a glass sample was fixed between the heat conductive plates ...

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

Photoswitchable Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A conductive material where the conductivity can be modulated remotely by irradiation with light is presented. It is based on films of conductive metal–organic framework type Cu3(HHTP)2 with embedded photochromic molecules such as azobenzene, diarylethene, spiropyran, and hexaarylbiimidazole in the pores.

Calculating Nomogragh showing Cutting Temperature by Temper Color

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Precision Engineering, 1974
Decision is often made at the shops whether the cutting conditions were suitable or not by observing the temper color on the steel chips. For the purpose of theorizing this convenient method, this paper analyzes the cooling behavior and the thickness of the oxide film on the chips and presents a calculating nomograph showing the cutting temperature by ...

Optimal Temperature Spacing for Regionally Weight-preserving Tempering

open access: yes, 2018
Parallel tempering is popular method for allowing MCMC algorithms to properly explore a $d$-dimensional multimodal target density. One problem with traditional power-based parallel tempering for multimodal targets is that the proportion of probability mass associated to the modes can change for different inverse-temperature values, sometimes ...

Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...
