We study the problem of covering a word f by a set F of available segments. In particular we demonstrate that each F induces a unique structure (scaffold) on f which determines how all "succint" coverings of f (by elements of F) are positioned on f. Our motivation for this study comes from the formalization of the template–guided recombination which ...

Rules and algorithms for the design of templates for template matching
[1992] Proceedings. 11th IAPR International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2003Template matching is considered to be a powerful image processing tool that is particularly useful in industrial inspection problems. In industrial inspection large numbers of objects have to be processed in short time. The processing itself is relatively easy. The defects that are to be found are known and can be modelled with black and white patterns.

Model-based approaches are very popular for medical image segmentation as they carry useful prior information on the target structure. Among them, the implicit template deformation framework recently bridged the gap between the efficiency and flexibility of level-set region competition and the robustness of atlas deformation approaches.

Wiki content templating enables reuse of content structures among wiki pages. In this paper we present a thorough study of this widespread feature, showing how its two state of the art models (functional and creational templating) are sub-optimal.

Code Generation with Templates
2012Templates are used to generate all kinds of text, including computer code. The last decade, the use of templates gained a lot of popularity due to the increase of dynamic web applications. Templates are a tool for programmers, and implementations of template engines are most times based on practical experience rather than based on a theoretical ...
