Controlling the Reactivity of Adsorbed DNA on Template Surfaces

Enantioselectivity in Random Deposition Processeses on Template Surfaces

A molecular model is proposed to study the enantioselective adsorption of chiral species on metallic surfaces modified through the preadsorption of another chiral species, known as template surfaces. It is found that anisotropic and exclusive interactions among adsorbed species are essential factors in the enantioselective process.

Using infrared spectroscopy, a comparative investigation was carried out of the surface properties of mesoporous aluminas prepared by the carbon templating route and of a commercial alumina PURAL SB. In the hydroxylated state the mesoporous materials bear surface OH groups terminally bonded to an octahedral Al3+ ion, which has basic properties.
