Gold Nanowire Fabrication with Surface‐Attached Lipid Nanotube Templates
Small, 2016A high‐throughput approach to fabricate gold nanowires on surfaces with a lipid nanotube template is demonstrated. Streptavidin‐coated gold nanoparticles are attached to the biotin‐tagged lipid nanotubes. After the chemical fixation, the samples are dried and treated with oxygen plasma to remove the organic template and connect the particles.

Optimal Templates for Nonrigid Surface Reconstruction
2012This paper addresses the problem of reconstructing a deforming surface from point observations in a monocular video sequence. Recent state-of-the-art approaches divide the surface into smaller patches to simplify the problem. Among these, one very promising approach reconstructs the patches individually using a quadratic deformation model.

Si(hhm) surfaces: Templates for developing nanostructures
Semiconductors, 2015The fabrication of ordered low-dimensional structures on clean and metal-atom-decorated stepped Si(557) and Si(556) surfaces is discussed. The formation conditions and atomic structure of regular step systems on clean Si(557) 7 × 7 and Si(556) 7 × 7 surfaces are studied.

Surface tailoring control in micelle templated silica
Journal of Organometallic Chemistry, 2006Surface tailoring control was studied using new concept surface-protector (SP) group that can covered a part of surface. In micelle templated silica, cationic surfactant had the role of SP group. Various methods of silylation on the surface coverage was done on the hexagonal micelle templated silicas and the samples was characterized using BET surface ...

Template-assisted nano-patterning of solid surfaces
Biopolymers, 1998Protein layers are deposited on the surface of implanted biomaterials. Better understanding of the interaction between the surface protein layers and the biological system would lead to the development of future biomaterials with superior biocompatibilities.

Body surface representation using adjustable template model
2009 International Conference on Industrial Mechatronics and Automation, 2009The paper presents a template modeler for modeling individualization, realistic body surface. A new body shape is easily generated by modifying a template model with some dressing parameters. The problem is approached by some fitted silhouettes that are devoted to the generation of appropriate shape and proportion of the body geometry with inputting ...

Quasicrystal surfaces: structure and potential as templates
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2002We present a review of recent progress in determining the surface structure of quasicrystals, with emphasis on their connections to mathematical tiling models. The review focusses in particular on the five-fold surface of icosahedral Al-Pd-Mn and the ten-fold surface of decagonal Al-Ni-Co.

Tissue engineering templates using minimal surfaces.
Studies in health technology and informatics, 2006The status quo of tissue engineering can be summarized as "a random walk through the design space". The existing scaffold designs based on computeraided design (CAD) and solid freeform fabrication (SFF) are anti-biomorphic and mechanically weak cubic partitions with sharp edges.

Hierarchical surface wrinkles directed by wrinkled templates
Soft Matter, 2012So far, although much progress has been made in the controllable fabrication of a microstructured surface, it is still a great challenge to pattern the surface fully based on non-lithographic techniques. Here ordered hierarchical stress-relief wrinkles with well-defined microstructures have been fabricated via a template-guided surface wrinkling.

Functionalisation of gold surfaces via topological templates
Tetrahedron, 1998Regioselectivity addressable functionalised templates (RAFT) represent topological cyclic peptides containing orthogonally protected attachment sites pointing to opposite faces of the template backbone. Functionalisation of the template with coordinating groups and alkane chains result in metal-binding and self-association properties CI solution ...
