Association of neighborhood economic trajectories and risk of mortality among older adults

open access: yesArchives of Public Health
Background Lower neighborhood socioeconomic status (SES) and decline in neighborhood SES have been linked to detrimental health outcomes, such as cardiovascular disease (CVD), cancer, and mortality.

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

Attribute refinement in a multigranular temporal object data model

open access: yes, 2009
Temporal granularities are the unit of measure for temporal data, thus a multigranular temporal object model allows to store temporal data at different levels of detail, according to the needs of the application domain.

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Proton-beam driven fast ignition of inertially confined fuels: Reduction of the ignition energy by the use of two proton beams with radially shaped profiles

open access: yes, 2008
Fast ignition of a spherical compressed deuterium-tritium assembly induced by the energy deposition of laser-accelerated proton beams is considered. An efficient way to reduce the ignition energy consists of using a two proton beams scheme [M.

Do Trees Really Make a Difference to Our Perceptions of Streets? An Immersive Virtual Environment E-Participation Streetscape Study

open access: yesLand
Urban streets, constituting the majority of public space, are often designed to prioritise vehicular movement over the pedestrian experience, leading to environments that can feel unsafe and unwelcoming.

Temporal Gestures in Different Temporal Perspectives

open access: yesCognitive Science
AbstractTemporal perspectives allow us to place ourselves and temporal events on a timeline, making it easier to conceptualize time. This study investigates how we take different temporal perspectives in our temporal gestures. We asked participants (n = 36) to retell temporal scenarios written in the Moving‐Ego, Moving‐Time, and Time‐Reference‐Point ...

Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.
