Temporal Flows in Temporal Networks [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Computer and System Sciences, 2017
We introduce temporal flows on temporal networks, i.e., networks the links of which exist only at certain moments of time. Such networks are ephemeral in the sense that no link exists after some time. Our flow model is new and differs from the "flows over time" model, also called "dynamic flows" in the literature.

Temporal matching

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 2020
A link stream is a sequence of pairs of the form $(t,\{u,v\})$, where $t\in\mathbb N$ represents a time instant and $u\neq v$. Given an integer $γ$, the $γ$-edge between vertices $u$ and $v$, starting at time $t$, is the set of temporally consecutive edges defined by $\{(t',\{u,v\}) | t' \in [t,t+γ-1]\}$. We introduce the notion of temporal matching of

Temporal Indexicals And Temporal Terms [PDF]

open access: yesSynthese, 2002

Influences of temporal order in temporal reproduction

open access: yesPsychonomic Bulletin & Review, 2023
AbstractDespite the crucial role of complex temporal sequences, such as speech and music, in our everyday lives, our ability to acquire and reproduce these patterns is prone to various contextual biases. In this study, we examined how the temporal order of auditory sequences affects temporal reproduction.

Temporal RDF [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The Resource Description Framework (RDF) is a metadata model and language recommended by the W3C. This paper presents a framework to incorporate temporal reasoning into RDF, yielding temporal RDF graphs. We present a semantics for temporal RDF graphs, a syntax to incorporate temporality into standard RDF graphs, an inference system for temporal RDF ...

TEMPORAL GRADATION AND TEMPORAL LIMITATION [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
In his magnum opus (Syntax and Semantics, Leiden 1978, henceforth: S&S) C.L. Ebeling makes a distinction between temporal gradation (pp 301-308 and 337-339) and temporal limitation (pp 311-315). In the case of temporal gradation “p , q”, the meaning “q” specifies the time during which the referent carries the mean-ing “p”.

Electrophysiological model of human temporal contrast sensitivity based on SSVEP

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2023
The present study aims to connect the psychophysical research on the human visual perception of flicker with the neurophysiological research on steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPs) in the context of their application needs and current ...

Reconstructing the diet, trophic level and migration pattern of mysticete whales based on baleen isotopic composition

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2021
Baleen from mysticete whales is a well-preserved proteinaceous material that can be used to identify migrations and feeding habits for species whose migration pathways are unknown. Analysis of δ13C and δ15N values from bulk baleen have been used to infer

RFI Detection and Mitigation for Advanced Correlators in Interferometric Radiometers

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
This work presents the first RFI detection and mitigation algorithm for the interferometric radiometers that will be implemented in its correlator unit. The algorithm operates in the time and frequency domains, applying polarimetric and statistical tests

THE TEMPORAL CONTINUUM

open access: yesThe Review of Symbolic Logic
AbstractThe continuum has been one of the most controversial topics in mathematics since the time of the Greeks. Some mathematicians, such as Euclid and Cantor, held the position that a line is composed of points, while others, like Aristotle, Weyl, and Brouwer, argued that a line is not composed of points but rather a matrix of a continued insertion ...
