The Emerging 4D Printing of Shape‐Memory Thermomorphs for Self‐Adaptative Biomedical Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
4D printing enables the creation of smart implants that adapt to changing conditions in the human body over time. At the core of this technology are shape‐memory thermomorphs (SMTMs). This review offers an in‐depth analysis of 4D printing with SMTMs, emphasizing the latest advancements in smart materials, stimuli, programming principles, and their ...

Validation of a 3D-printed human temporal bone model for otology surgical skill training

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, 2021
Hypothesis: Three-dimensional (3D) printed temporal bones are comparable to cadaveric temporal bones as a training tool for otologic surgery. Background: Cadaveric temporal bone dissection is an integral part of otology surgical training.

A Hospital based study of High Resolution Computed Tomography and Conventional Radiography for Evaluation of Pathologies of Temporal Bone [PDF]

open access: yesPerspectives In Medical Research, 2020
Background: Many imaging modalities have been in use for the evaluation of temporal bone lesions. Plain X-rays are cost-effective however; they provide limited details and hence sometimes may result in an inaccurate diagnosis. With the advent of HRCT,

Subchondral bone density distribution of the talus in clinically normal Labrador Retrievers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Background: Bones continually adapt their morphology to their load bearing function. At the level of the subchondral bone, the density distribution is highly correlated with the loading distribution of the joint.

Biologically‐Inspired Melt Electrowriting for the Generation of Highly Biomimetic Functional Myocardium

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, melt electrowriting is used to fabricate a 3D printed scaffold design that generates engineered cardiac tissues with in‐plane contraction, mimicking natural myocardium. It is shown that these tissues display advanced maturation and functionality.

ANOMALIES OF THE TEMPORAL BONE.

open access: yesJAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, 1905
DISPLACEMENT OF THE MASTOID PROCESS BY THE LATERAL SINUS.1 One of the most common forms of asymmetry in the human skull consists in the right lateral sinus being situated more anteriorly than the left. Trautmann 2 has made extensive investigations into these conditions, and following his ideas I examined a series of 17 picked temporal bones and ...
