Temporalis fascia grafts shrink
The Journal of Laryngology & Otology, 1997AbstractTemporalis fascia, placed as an underlay graft, is commonly used to repair tympanic membrane perforations. Graft failure, however, is a well recognized complication. Grafts are often allowed to dry out during the procedure and, therefore, are often positioned in a dry or partially dehydrated state and only become fully rehydrated after ...

Intramuscular Temporalis Fascia
Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 1997The purpose of this study is to demonstrate an intramuscular fascial layer within the temporalis muscle. This can be used as an inferior plane when developing a temporalis myofascial flap for temporomandibular joint reconstruction. The advantages of using this plane include relatively bloodless zone, adequate thickness of flap for reconstructive ...

Tympanic Membrane Grafting With Temporalis Fascia
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1967THE RESULTS of tympanic membrane grafting have improved dramatically in the past few years (Fig 1). In our hands, this improvement can be attributed for the most part to the technique of using temporalis fascia. The purpose of this report is threefold: (1) To review the steps in the transition from postauricular full-thickness skin to fascia as a ...

Eyelid Reconstruction Using Temporalis Fascia
Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 1989A case is reported of traumatic full-thickness loss of half the upper eyelid. The defect was reconstructed using a pedicled temporalis fascial flap in conjunction with a skin graft. The method is useful when more standard forms of reconstruction are impossible. The advantages of using temporalis fascia and some pitfalls are described.

Bleb Revision With Temporalis Fascia Autograft
Journal of Glaucoma, 2017Purpose: We report the first description of temporalis fascia autograft to repair a late leakage bleb with scleral defect that occurred long time after trabeculectomy with mitomycin C. Patient: A 65-year-old woman was referred to our hospital with chronic late bleb leakage on her ...

Temporalis Fascia Graft Forceps
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1966Since Storrs, 1 Ortegren, 2 and Heermann 3 started to use temporalis fascia graft for tympanic membrane reconstruction, this material received worldwide acceptance. There are different ways to obtain and prepare this tissue for tympanic membrane graft.

Temporalis Fascia Grafts in Open Secondary Rhinoplasty
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1994Parchment thin skin is a common problem associated with secondary rhinoplasty. When such skin is present, the underlying osseocartilaginous skeleton often becomes visible. Although many techniques have been used to treat the condition, we have found that an onlay graft of temporalis fascia is a most satisfactory method to cover the underlying ...

Myringoplasty by homologous temporalis fascia
Indian Journal of Otolaryngology, 1986Temporalis fascia was used as a homograft to repair the tympanic membrane perforations in 72 ears with a success rate of 83.3 per cent. During the same period temporalis fascia was used as autograft in 110 ears and results in the two groups compared. The results were better in homograft ciroups.
