In Vitro Propagation of Peumus boldus Molina Using a Temporary Immersion System

open access: yesHorticulturae
Peumus boldus Mol. (boldo) is a Chilean endemic tree species, characteristic of the region’s sclerophyllous forests. Increasing demand for its leaves and bark, valued for their antioxidant properties, has contributed to declining populations of this ...

MICROPROPAGATION OF VACCINIUM CORYMBOSUM L. AND CORYLUS AVELLANA L. USING A TEMPORARY IMMERSION BIOREACTOR SYSTEM

open access: yesAgricultura, 2019
In this work we aimed to develop an effcient micropropagation protocol for highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L. ‘Duke’) and hazelnut (Corylus avellana L. ‘Tonda di Giffoni’) using the Plantform bioreactor.

Airborne 1O2 Delivery via a Superhydrophobic Dressing as a Pathway to Next‐Generation Wound Therapies, an in Vivo Murine Burn Model Study

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of the SH bandage placed on an infected burn wound and its role in wound healing. A superhydrophobic PDMS membrane coated with the PS verteporfin is placed over the wound area and illuminated with a red laser at 690 nm, generating airborne 1O2 above the tissue.

A Data Driven Review of In Vitro Electrical and Mechanical Stimulation for Post‐Acute Phase Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how in vitro electrical and mechanical stimulation modulates wound healing in fibroblasts and keratinocytes. Analyzing over 560 experimental data points, we relate stimulation parameters to proliferation and migration outcomes, evaluate platform designs, and highlight the need for multi‐parameter optimization to advance targeted ...

Ammonium Salts as Curing Agents to Obtain Ionic Epoxy Resins With a Thermoplastic‐to‐Thermoset Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

Assembling a True “Olympic Gel” From over 16 000 Combinatorial DNA Rings

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Olympic gels are an elusive class of soft matter, consisting of molecular networks held together purely by mechanically interlocked rings. Their topological structure promises unique properties and functions, but their synthesis has proven notoriously difficult.

Video capture and editing as a tool for the storage, distribution, and illustration of morphological characters of nematodes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Morphological identification and detailed observation of nematodes usually requires permanent slides, but these are never truly permanent and often prevent the same specimens to be used for other purposes.

Effect of the surface-stimulated mode on the kinetics of homogeneous crystal nucleation in droplets

open access: yes, 2008
A kinetic theory of homogeneous crystal nucleation in unary droplets is presented taking into account that a crystal nucleus can form not only in the volume-based mode (with all its facets within the droplet) but also in the surface-stimulated one (with ...
