Optical Fiber‐Based Versatile Wearable Force Myography System: Application to Human–Robot Interaction

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 2, February 2026.
A compact and flexible wearable force myography sensor based on optical fiber technology detects muscle activity through pressure‐induced light loss. The sensor offers high sensitivity for detecting subtle force and finger motion changes, along with excellent signal stability under dynamic and sweating conditions.

A New Experimental Protocol for Assessing Hominoid Assisted Arboreal Bipedalism

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Biological Anthropology, Volume 189, Issue 1, January 2026.
A new experimental protocol for investigating arboreal bipedalism in hominoids was successfully used by all available age and sex classes of chimpanzees in the case study. This protocol identifies two forms of arboreal bipedalism: forward facing and sideways, and allows for the collection of gait parameter data for future comparative studies.

Dynamic Ultrasound Imaging of Extensor Pollicis Brevis Hypertrophy in Proximal Intersection Syndrome: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Ultrasound, Volume 54, Issue 1, Page 213-219, January 2026.
Dynamic ultrasound revealed extensor pollicis brevis hypertrophy displacing second compartment tendons, suggesting a novel friction‐based mechanism for proximal intersection syndrome. This case highlights the role of dynamic sonography in identifying motion‐dependent tendon interactions underlying overuse‐related wrist pain.

How to extract leucocyte‐poor platelet‐rich plasma using a commercial platelet concentration system developed to obtain leucocyte‐rich platelet‐rich plasma: A pilot study

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, Volume 13, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Purpose To develop and characterise a modification of the preparation protocol of a commercial leucocyte‐rich platelet‐rich plasma (LR‐PRP) preparation device (the GPS® III Platelet Concentration System, Biomet, USA) that allows for consistent leucocyte‐poor platelet‐rich plasma (LP‐PRP) extraction using the same components.

Effect of Blood Flow Restriction Training on Wrist Pain and Function: A Case Report of an Elite Tennis Player

open access: yesPhysiotherapy Research International, Volume 31, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Blood flow restriction training (BFRT) has enhanced physiological function and performance in lower limb injuries. However, its application in upper limb injuries, particularly at the wrist, remains underexplored. This case report aims to evaluate the effects of BFRT on wrist injury rehabilitation.
