Preoperative knee laxity is not associated with subjective knee function or revision surgery after primary anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: An analysis of 5425 patients

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To determine whether preoperative knee laxity, as measured by the KT‐1000 arthrometer, was associated with subjective knee function preoperatively and at 1, 2 and 5 years, or with revision anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction (ACLR) within 5 years of the primary surgery.

Semitendinosus tenodesis for medial instability of the knee

open access: yesArthroscopy, 2001
Abstract A new technique of semitendinosus tenodesis has been developed to treat medial instability of the knee. The semitendinosus tendon was sectioned at the musculotendinous junction. The accessory insertion of the tendon was dissected to be overlapping and parallel to the anterior band of the medial collateral ligament.

Smaller hamstrings autograft size after primary ACL reconstruction is associated with higher odds for graft failure: A meta‐analysis on autografts sizes covering 46,268 patients

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To investigate the association between autograft size and graft failure for hamstrings tendon (HT), patellar tendon (PT) and quadriceps tendon (QT) autografts. Methods Medline, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Amed and Web of Science were searched at four separate time points, with the most recent search in February 2025.

Arthroscopic Suture Anchor Tenodesis: Loop-Suture Technique

open access: yes, 2013
With advancements in arthroscopic surgery, arthroscopic biceps tenodesis with suture anchor recently has been reported to be a reasonable option for the treatment of biceps pathologies, especially for those that are symptomatic or accompanied by a ...

High posterior tibial slope increases graft failure risk but does not impair functional outcomes after primary ACL reconstruction

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Posterior tibial slope (PTS) has been implicated in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) graft failure, but its relationship to objective stability and patient‐reported outcomes (PROs) after primary ACL reconstruction (ACLR) remains unclear. The study evaluated whether higher PTS is associated with laximetry, graft survival, and PROs after

Subpectoral biceps tenodesis using a novel anterior cortical button technique

open access: yes, 2018
Background Various surgical treatments are described in the literature for biceps pathology. Method The techniques currently described for subpectoral tenodesis involve the use of suture anchors, interference screws, bicortical suture buttons or ...

Comparison of Clinical Failure Rates After 2 Techniques of Subpectoral Mini-Open Biceps Tenodesis: Sequence and Suture Passage Technique Matter

open access: yesOrthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, 2017
Background: A number of techniques are available for performing biceps tenodesis, the majority of which result in good or excellent outcomes. However, failure may result in pain and/or dissatisfying biceps deformity.

Additional lateral meniscus centralization reduces residual anterolateral rotatory instability after anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and lateral meniscus repair

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study aimed to examine the effects of lateral meniscus (LM) centralization on anterolateral rotational stability in patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and LM injuries. The hypothesis was that performing LM repair and centralization on knees with LM lesions would control anterolateral rotatory instability (ALRI ...
