Summary Targeting the colony‐stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R) to remove tumour‐associated macrophages is being explored as cancer therapy. This strategy may be relevant for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), which strongly depends on support from myeloid cells.

Chondroid tenosynovial giant cell tumor of temporomandibular joint
Tenosynovial giant cell tumor (TGCT), a benign proliferative lesion arising from the synovial membrane of the joints, is rarely seen in the temporomandibular joint. It frequently presents as a painful, preauricular swelling and affects the jaw functions. Two types of TGCT seen are diffuse TGCT (TGCT-D) and localized TGCT.

Therapeutic Antibodies Targeting CSF1 Impede Macrophage Recruitment in a Xenograft Model of Tenosynovial Giant Cell Tumor [PDF]
Tenosynovial giant cell tumor is a neoplastic disease of joints that can cause severe morbidity. Recurrences are common following local therapy, and no effective medical therapy currently exists.

Macrophage: Biological Functions, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets
Macrophages are sentinel innate immune cells that arise from embryonic precursors and bone marrow monocytes, displaying a functional continuum that transcends the classical M1 (pro‐inflammatory)/M2 (anti‐inflammatory) dichotomy. Under homeostatic conditions, balanced M1/M2 polarization preserves tissue integrity by coordinating immune surveillance ...

This integrated high‐resolution copy number and histomolecular analysis of diffuse hemispheric glioma, H3 G34‐mutant expands the spectrum of associated genetic changes and underscores the presence of universal TP53 abnormalities at copy number, sequence, and protein expression level, with frequent yet largely unrecognized TP53 copy‐neutral loss of ...

Intra-articular tenosynovial giant cell tumor arising from the posterior cruciate ligament.
Tenosynovial giant cell tumors originate from the synovial tissue of the joints, tendon sheaths, mucosal bursas, and fibrous tissues adjacent to tendons. The disease presents in localized and diffused forms.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
