Cumulative Social Disadvantage and Disease Activity in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: A Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Social determinants of health (SDOH) contribute to juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) disparities, but most studies have assessed SDOH independently rather than cumulatively across individual, family, and neighborhood levels. Using a socioecological framework, we investigated the relationship among cumulative social disadvantage ...

Transcriptome profiling the basal region of poplar stems during the early gravitropic response

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2014
Stems of angiosperm trees are affected by gravity. Young poplar stems show primary growth in the top internodes and differential cambium activity in the basal internodes after inclination with some tension wood formed after 45 min.

Employment Trajectories of Patients with Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and Factors Driving Transitions Between States

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) significantly impacts employment capacity. This study aimed to investigate the impact of burden of disease activity, damage, and treatment on employment outcomes and transitions in patients with SLE. Materials and Methods Using data from a single center, we analyzed employment transitions, adjusted mean ...

Factors Associated with Fibromyalgia Diagnosis amongst People Meeting Criteria: Results from UK Biobank

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective The diagnosis of fibromyalgia (FM) is challenging due to the absence of definitive biomarkers, numerous overlapping comorbidities and its reliance on patient‐reported symptoms. Discrepancies between diagnostic criteria and clinical practice imply the possibility of diagnostic biases, complicating timely and accurate identification. This study

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

DETERMINATION OF DIFFERENCES IN ANATOMICAL AND CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF TENSION AND OPPOSITE WOOD OF 8-YEAR OLD EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS

open access: yesMaderas: Ciencia y Tecnología, 2010
Tension and opposite wood, divided in the corresponding heartwood and sapwood regions, from 8-year old Eucalyptus globulus trees were characterized for chemical composition and fibre anatomy in the transverse section in order to identify the main ...

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Stem gravitropism and tension wood formation in three tropical woody species with different wood densities

open access: yesJournal of Wood Science
Angiosperm trees develop tension wood on the upper side of leaning stems to reorient the direction of stems towards their normal positions in response to a gravitational stimulus. The development of gelatinous fibers with thick inner gelatinous layers (G-

Nanostructural deformation of high-stiffness spruce wood under tension

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Conifer wood is an exceptionally stiff and strong material when its cellulose microfibrils are well aligned. However, it is not well understood how the polymer components cellulose, hemicelluloses and lignin co-operate to resist tensile stress in wood ...
