Substrate Stress Relaxation Regulates Cell‐Mediated Assembly of Extracellular Matrix

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Silicone‐based viscoelastic substrates with tunable stress relaxation reveal how matrix mechanics regulates cellular mechanosensing and cell‐mediated matrix remodelling in the stiff regime. High stress relaxation promotes assembly of fibronectin fibril‐like structures, increased nuclear localization of YAP and formation of β1 integrin‐enriched ...

The gE-Approximation Property Determined by the Banach Space E = q(p)

open access: yesMathematics
We study the gE-approximation property for the Banach space E=ℓq(ℓp), which is an extension of Saphar’s p-approximation property. We establish some characterizations of the gE-approximation property using the space of E-summing operators, which is an ...

An All‐Optical Driven Bio‐Photovoltaic Interface for Active Control of Live Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐photovoltaic Interface (BIO‐PV‐I) for live cell manipulation is presented. BIO‐PV‐I can be activated non‐invasively and remotely to control the spatial motility, adhesion, and morphology of cells adhering to it. BIO‐PV‐I uses a patterned light‐induced electric potential in iron‐doped lithium niobate crystals whose light‐driven and reversible nature,

From Waste to Value: Conversion of Calcium Sulfate to Vaterite via Carbon Capture and Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a new concept for carbon management that relies on the carbonation of industrial gypsum waste and yields phase‐pure vaterite at ambient conditions without any additives. The obtained vaterite is further shown to be a reactive material that develops compressive strength in aqueous suspensions like conventional cements.

Temporal Denoising of Infrared Images via Total Variation and Low-Rank Bidirectional Twisted Tensor Decomposition

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Temporal random noise (TRN) in uncooled infrared detectors significantly degrades image quality. Existing denoising techniques primarily address fixed-pattern noise (FPN) and do not effectively mitigate TRN.

Synthetic Nanobiology Actuated Lipometabolic Cell Factory for Autologous Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
FA plays a crucial role in the interaction between tumor cells and the tumor microenvironment, especially for the immune response. A biocatalytic immunoenhancement strategy is developed to boost antitumor immunity by FA metabolic orientation to ceramide. Through the design of this delicate catalytic immunoenhancement strategy, the synthetic nanobiology

A robust low‐rank tensor completion model with sparse noise for higher‐order data recovery

open access: yesIET Image Processing
The tensor singular value decomposition‐based model has garnered increasing attention in addressing tensor recovery challenges. However, existing tensor recovery methods exhibit certain inherent limitations.

Operator representation of weakly Cauchy sequences in projective tensor products of Banach spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1980
It is shown that the above sequences always determine linear transformations and if the sequences are bounded under the least cross norm, that the transformations are continuous.

Solving $\ell^p\!$-norm regularization with tensor kernels

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we discuss how a suitable family of tensor kernels can be used to efficiently solve nonparametric extensions of $\ell^p$ regularized learning methods. Our main contribution is proposing a fast dual algorithm, and showing that it allows to solve the problem efficiently. Our results contrast recent findings suggesting kernel methods cannot

Coexisting Rashba/Dresselhaus Spin Splitting in Solution‐Processed Bournonite Films Using Circular Photogalvanic Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Circular photogalvanic effect measurements and first‐principles calculations reveal spin‐splitting states in solution‐processed bournonite films (CuPbSbS3) due to structural and bulk inversion asymmetry. The results provide experimental confirmation of coexisting Rashba and Dresselhaus spin‐splitting states in this non‐centrosymmetric chalcogenide ...
