Search for invariant sets of the generalized tent map
This paper describes a predictive control method to search for unstable periodic orbits of the generalized tent map. The invariant set containing periodic orbits is a repelling set with a complicated Cantor-like structure. Therefore, a simple local stabilization of the orbit may not be enough to find a periodic orbit, due to the small measure of the ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Chaotic block cryptosystem using high precision approaches to tent map [PDF]
This paper presents the implementation and evaluation of a block cryptosystem based in chaotic maps. The noise function used in this cryptosystem is an approximation to the chaotic tent map, and for this reason, it is named pseudo chaotic tent map (PCT ...

The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Exploring Simplicity Bias in 1D Dynamical Systems
Arguments inspired by algorithmic information theory predict an inverse relation between the probability and complexity of output patterns in a wide range of input–output maps. This phenomenon is known as simplicity bias.

Chaotic stream encryption scheme based on topological conjugate chaotic systems of Tent map
A general chaotic stream encryption scheme is proposed by using two chaotic systems which topologically conjugate with Tent map and a method to generate independent and identically distributed chaotic streams.

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

Analysis of the Logistic and Skew Tent Map for Smart Coupling over a Finite Field [PDF]
International audienceChaotic maps have been proved to be efficient in the design of pseudo- random number generator (PRNG). However, the great majority of chaotic maps use real numbers.
