Symmetric cryptosystem based on skew tent map

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2017
This paper presents an efficient symmetric cryptosystem based on a non–scaled nor discretized skew tent map (STM); this system is implemented in a USB device interacting with a software module in a personal computer. The USB device uses a dedicated processor that contains a pseudorandom numbers generator (PRNG) to generate uniformly distributed chaotic

On Transformation between Discretized Bernoulli and Tent Maps

IEICE Transactions on Fundamentals of Electronics, Communications and Computer Sciences, 2005
In this paper, it is proved that there is a transformation between two types of nonlinear feedback shift register which can be regarded as implementation of the Bernoulli and tent maps with finite precision. This transformation can be interpreted as a sort of finite dimension version of topological conjugation between the Bernoulli and tent maps on ...

Periodic orbits of order three in the tent map

Physica Scripta, 1992
Using only elementary algebra, we find that period 3 cycles in the tent map exist whenever the parameter r is larger than or equal to a minimum value r3m. There are two distinct 3-cycles for each value of r except when it is equal to r3m in which case there is only one. The cycle elements are explicitly given as functions of r.

A chaos associative memory with a skew-tent mapping

SMC 2000 Conference Proceedings. 2000 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man and Cybernetics. 'Cybernetics Evolving to Systems, Humans, Organizations, and their Complex Interactions' (Cat. No.00CH37166), 2002
The article proposes a chaos neural network model applied to autoassociation memory. The presented artificial neuron model is properly characterized in terms of a time-dependent skew-tent periodic activation function to involve a chaotic dynamics as well as the energy steepest descent strategy.
