Πρόσφατες έρευνες αποκάλυψαν την παρουσία πέντε ακόμη ειδών: Τ. crassus André, T. pacificus Baker, T. punica Pritchard και Baker, T. rosae Kadzhava και T. zhizhilashviliae Reck.

Περιγραφή του Νέου Είδους Hystripalpus chalkidicus (Acari-Tenuipalpidae)
ENTOMOLOGIA HELLENICA, 1985 Έχει περιγραφεί και σχεδιαστεί το θηλυκό και η δευτερονύμφη του νέου είδους Hystripalpus chalkidicus. Το νέο είδος βρέθηκε στις 26 Σεπτέμβρη 1966, πάνω σε νεαρούς βλαστούς εληάς, στην αγροτική περιοχή Ορμύλια Χαλκιδικής.
