Problem Directors and Corporate Risk‐Taking

Abstract This study investigates the impact of a ‘problem director’ on the risk‐taking propensity of a firm and its consequences for firm value. Analysing a sample of US companies, we find that corporate risk‐taking propensity increases when a firm appoints a problem director.

This study presents a comprehensive assessment of green and hawksbill sea turtles in the Gulf of Guinea, combining 9 years of nesting area surveys with telemetry data. Our findings reveal promising signs of recovery for green and hawksbill turtles, driven by conservation efforts.
