Viscoelasticity‐Induced Controllable Periodic Meso‐Textures of Liquid Crystal Polymers in Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Viscoelasticity‐driven instabilities are harnessed to create tunable, periodic textures in 3D‐printed liquid crystalline polymers. This study illustrates how processing parameters control these spontaneous meso‐scale patterns. These unique structural architectures unlock new possibilities for functional devices, ranging from photonic components to ...

Terahertz Radiation Effects and Biological Applications

open access: yesJournal of Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves, 2009
We present a brief overview of the literature on biological applications and experimental data on the effects of THz radiation. The region of the electromagnetic spectrum from 0.1 to 10 THz is a frontier area for research in physics, chemistry, biology, materials science and medicine. This area has recently begun to be filled by a variety of sources of

Observation of Relativistic Domain Wall Motion in Amorphous Ferrimagnets

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Domain walls in ferrimagnets and antiferromagnets move as relativistic sine‐Gordon solitons, with the spin‐wave velocity setting their speed limit. Such relativistic domain‐wall motion is demonstrated in amorphous GdFeCo near angular momentum compensation, where current‐driven walls reach 90% of the 2 kms−1 spin‐wave speed, enabling ultrafast, device ...

Rational Design of Printable Carbon Nanotube Transparent Conductive Films via Data‐Driven and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A machine learning and simulation‐guided strategy is demonstrated for gentle, non‐sonication dispersion of carbon nanotubes, preserving structural integrity and performance. This approach enables transparent conductive films with low sheet resistance, high transmittance, and sub‐20 µm printability.

Chiral Acoustic Phonon and Conservation of Pseudoangular Momentum in α‐Quartz

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Chiral acoustic phonons in α‐quartz are probed via Brillouin light scattering, exploiting the photon's helicity and the crystal's handedness. The interaction obeys a selection rule arising from pseudoangular momentum conservation, enabling direct optical access to phonon chirality in nonsymmorphic crystals.
