Generation of broadband THz pulses in organic crystal OH1 at room temperature and 10 K
We studied the effects of cryogenic cooling of a 2-[3-(4-hydroxystyryl)-5, 5-dimethylcyclohex-2-enylidene] malononitrile (OH1) crystal on the generation of broadband THz pulses via collinear optical rectification of 1350 nm femtosecond laser pulses ...

Optical thin film coated organic nonlinear crystal for efficient terahertz wave generation
In the process of terahertz (THz) wave generation via optical rectification of infrared femtosecond pulses in a non-linear optical crystal, the power of terahertz wave is directly proportional to the square of the optical pump power.

Emerging Device Applications From Strong Light–Matter Interactions in 2D Materials
Two‐dimensional semiconductors enable extremely compact optoelectronic devices such as solar cells, sensors, LEDs, and lasers. Their strong light–matter interactions allow efficient light emission, detection, and energy conversion. This review article discusses the recent progress in integrating these materials with optical cavities and nanostructures ...

Terahertz resonances in crystalline heterostructures could close a spectral gap between conventional electronics and photonics while opening new windows on non‐equilibrium lattice dynamics. Femtosecond optical screening of the depolarization field in epitaxial PbTiO3/SrTiO3 superlattices launches a collective polar mode that oscillates near 1 THz and ...

Laser terahertz emission microscopy
Laser terahertz (THz) emission microscopy (LTEM) is reviewed. Femtosecond lasers can excite THz waves in various electronic materials due to ultrafast current modulation. The current modulation is realized by the acceleration or deceleration of photo-excited carriers, and thus LTEM visualizes the dynamic photo-response of substances.

Quaternary topological BiSbSe2Te are synthesized and demonstrates a broad spectral band photoresponse, ranging from infrared to terahertz and to millimeter waves, with a particular excellence on detection of low quantum energy terahertz photons. The observed photoresponse is attributed to the excitation of plasmonic nonequilibrium electrons originating

This study investigates acoustic phonon‑carrier coupling in FAxMA1−xPbBr3 single crystals using time‑domain Brillouin scattering. The results show that increasing the FA content in FAxMA1−xPbBr3 single crystal reduces both the elastic constant and the intrinsic carrier mobility governed by the acoustic phonon‑carrier coupling.
