Active Terahertz Metamaterials
We demonstrate planar terahertz metamaterial devices enabling actively controllable transmission amplitude, phase, or frequency at room temperature via carrier depletion or photoexcitation in the semiconductor substrate or in semiconductor materials incorporated into the metamaterial structure.

Asymmetric planar terahertz metamaterials [PDF]
We report an experimental observation of three distinct resonances in split ring resonators (SRRs) for both vertical and horizontal electric field polarizations at normal incidence by use of terahertz time domain spectroscopy.

Metamaterials in the Terahertz Regime
Metamaterials are artificial composites that acquire their electromagnetic properties from embedded subwavelength metallic structures. In theory, the effective electromagnetic properties of metamaterials at any frequency can be engineered to take on ...

Design and Print Terahertz Metamaterials Based on Electrohydrodynamic Jet
Terahertz metamaterials are some of the core components of the new generation of high-frequency optoelectronic devices, which have excellent properties that natural materials do not have. The unit structures are generally much smaller than the wavelength,

Terahertz metamaterial with asymmetric transmission [PDF]
We show for the first time that a planar metamaterial, an array of coupled metal split-ring resonators with a unit cell lacking mirror symmetry, exhibits asymmetric transmission of terahertz radiation (0.25-2.5 THz) propagating through it in opposite directions.

Terahertz Metamaterials for Biosensing Applications: A Review
In recent decades, THz metamaterials have emerged as a promising technology for biosensing by extracting useful information (composition, structure and dynamics) of biological samples from the interaction between the THz wave and the biological samples ...
