Random terahertz metamaterials [PDF]
Using terahertz time domain spectroscopy we investigate the normal incidence transmission through periodically and randomly arranged planar split ring resonators (SRRs). Introduction of positional disorder in metamaterials has no effect on the quality factor of the fundamental Inductive-Capacitive (LC) resonance.

Terahertz near-field microscopy based on an air-plasma dynamic aperture
A THz near-field technique was proposed based on an air-plasma dynamic aperture, which can achieve sub-wavelength THz imaging without approaching the sample with any devices.

Metamaterial-based terahertz converter
Since the early 1980s the terahertz range (0.1 to 10 THz) attracts permanent attention of fundamental and applied science. Due to its unique properties terahertz radiation is used in a wide range of applications such as spectroscopy, non-destructive defectoscopy and security systems.

Extraordinarily Transparent Metaldielectrics for Infrared and Terahertz Applications
Metamaterials are extremely important in advanced technologies, but usually, they rely on the resonant behavior of their constituent blocks. This strongly limits the application of metamaterials to particular frequency band ranges. However, metamaterials

Active terahertz metamaterial devices [PDF]
The development of artificially structured electromagnetic materials, termed metamaterials, has led to the realization of phenomena that cannot be obtained with natural materials. This is especially important for the technologically relevant terahertz (1 THz = 10(12) Hz) frequency regime; many materials inherently do not respond to THz radiation, and ...
