Terahertz radiation and the skin: a review. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Biomed Opt, 2021
Terahertz (THz) radiation has demonstrated a great potential in biomedical applications over the past three decades, mainly due to its non-invasive and label-free nature. Among all biological specimens, skin tissue is an optimal sample for the application of THz-based methods because it allows for overcoming some intrinsic limitations of the technique,

Electrical and Radiation Characteristics of Semilarge Photoconductive Terahertz Emitters [PDF]

open access: green, 2004
We present experimental characterization of semilarge photoconductive emitters, including their electrical/photoconductive parameters and terahertz spectra. A range of emitters were studied and fabricated on both LT-GaAs and SI-GaAs, having a variety

Intense terahertz radiation: generation and application. [PDF]

open access: yesFront Optoelectron, 2021
Strong terahertz (THz) radiation provides a powerful tool to manipulate and control complex condensed matter systems. This review provides an overview of progress in the generation, detection, and applications of intense THz radiation. The tabletop intense THz sources based on Ti:sapphire laser are reviewed, including photoconductive antennas (PCAs ...

Terahertz radiation detection by field effect transistor in magnetic field [PDF]

open access: bronze, 2009
We report on terahertz radiation detection with InGaAs/InAlAs Field Effect Transistors in quantizing magnetic field. The photovoltaic detection signal is investigated at 4.2 K as a function of the gate voltage and magnetic field.

Terahertz radiation of jerk photocurrent [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2020
We compute the jerk current tensor of GaAs, Si, and ferroelectric single-layer GeS, GeSe, SnS, and SnSe. We find peak values of the order of $10^{14}$ mA/V$^3$s$^2$ in GaAs and Si within the visible energy spectrum and an order of magnitude larger in single-layer GeS, GeSe, SnSe and SnS.
