Terahertz Study of Trichloroanisole by Time-Domain Spectroscopy
Frontiers in Optics 2007/Laser Science XXIII/Organic Materials and Devices for Displays and Energy Conversion, 2007This work presents THz time-domain spectroscopy applied in transmission to three TCA compounds (2,3,4-TCA, 2,4,6-TCA and 2,5,6-TCA) in pellet form pressed with polyethylene. Experiment results would be compared to theoretical modeling of the vibrational modes.

Terahertz quasi-time-domain spectroscopy imaging
Applied Optics, 2011We demonstrate terahertz (THz) imaging with a quasi-time-domain spectrometer. This type of THz system is inexpensive, compact, and relatively easy to set up. Beating the simultaneously emitted equidistant modes of a compact diode laser allows for analysis of samples at multiple frequencies with a single measurement.

Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy
2007The terahertz, or far-infrared, region of the electromagnetic spectrum is of critical importance in the spectroscopy of condensed matter systems. The electronic properties of semiconductors and metals are greatly influenced by bound states (e.g., excitons and Cooper pairs) whose energies are resonant with terahertz photons.

Determination of Cellulose Crystallinity by Terahertz-Time Domain Spectroscopy
Analytical Chemistry, 2014Terahertz-time domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) has the ability to probe the crystallinity of several materials, due to the interaction of THz radiation with optical phonons in crystal lattices. In this work, THz-TDS has been used to quantify the degree of crystallinity of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) samples.

Polarimetric terahertz time-domain spectroscopy
SPIE Proceedings, 2012One polarization measurement technology is proposed to apply in the basic Terahertz time domain spectroscopy (THz- TDS) using only one rotatable polarizer. The method to upgrade such a polarimetric Terahertz time-domain Spectroscopy (P-THz-TDS) was presented.

Terahertz Time‐Domain Spectroscopy of Gases, Liquids, and Solids
ChemPhysChem, 2011AbstractThe techniques and methods employed in the spectroscopic characterization of gases, liquids, and solids in the terahertz frequency range are reviewed. Terahertz time‐domain spectroscopy is applied to address a broadband frequency range between 100 GHz and 5 THz with a sub‐10 GHz frequency resolution.

On-Chip Terahertz Time-Domain Spectroscopy
2021Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) allows the direct measurement of optical and charge carrier properties of materials in a region of the electromagnetic spectrum inaccessible to most other spectroscopic techniques. We have adapted the technique to an on-chip arrangement that allows us to measure these properties in nanoscale materials with ...

Far-infrared terahertz time-domain spectroscopy of flames
Optics Letters, 1995We present what is to our knowledge the first comprehensive far-infrared absorption measurement of flames. These measurements, covering the region of 7-88 wave numbers (0.2-2.65 THz) are only now made possible by the technique of terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. We observe a large number of absorption lines-including those of water, CH, and NH(3)-in

Material parameter estimation with terahertz time-domain spectroscopy
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2001Imaging systems based on terahertz (THz) time-domain spectroscopy offer a range of unique modalities owing to the broad bandwidth, subpicosecond duration, and phase-sensitive detection of the THz pulses. Furthermore, the possibility exists for combining spectroscopic characterization or identification with imaging because the radiation is broadband in ...

Automatically Detecting Peaks in Terahertz Time-Domain Spectroscopy
2010 20th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2010To classify spectroscopic measurements it is necessary to have comparable methods of evaluation. In Terahertz (THz) time-domain spectroscopy, as a new technology, neither the presentation of the data nor the peak detection is standardized yet. We propose a procedure for automatic peak extraction in THz spectra of chemical compounds. After preprocessing
