Biodegradability and biocompatibility of copoly(butylene sebacate-co-terephthalate)s [PDF]
In the present study poly (butylene sebacate-co-terephthalate)s having different compositions were synthesized with a high yield and a random distribution by thermal transesterification of poly (butylene sebacate) and poly (butylene terephthalate ...

Effect of hydroxyapatite nanoparticles on the degradability of random poly(butylene terephthalate-co-aliphatic dicarboxylate)s having a high content of terephthalic units [PDF]
Copolyesters derived from 1,4-butanediol and constituted also of aliphatic and aromatic dicarboxylate units in a molar ratio of 3:7 were synthesized by a two-step polycondensation procedure.

Alkaline Depolymerization of Polyethylene Terephthalate Plastic Waste
Depolymerization reaction is considered one of the most significant ways of converting waste polyethylene terephthalate in to terephthalic acid. The water polyethylene terephthalate bottle waste was collected from different places in Baghdad.

Characterization of New H-Bonded Liquid Crystalline Complexes Based on Iminophenyl Nicotinate
Two new 1:2 supramolecular H-bonded liquid crystalline complexes (SMHBCs) were prepared through double H-bond interactions between either isophthalic acid (A) or terephthalic acid (B) and a nicotinate Schiff base (I6). The formed complexes were thermally

In this work, fragments of isophthalic and terephthalic acids are proposed as a structural scaffold to develop potential inhibitors of protein kinases. Novel isophthalic and terephthalic acid derivatives were designed as type-2 protein kinase inhibitors,

Commercial fire-retarded PET formulations - relationship between thermal degradation behaviour and fire-retardant action [PDF]
Many types of fire-retardants are used in poly(ethylene terephthalate), PET, formulations, and two commercial fire retardants, Ukanol(TM) and Phosgard(TM), have been shown to improve significantly PET flame-retardancy when used as comonomers.

Electrocatalytic upcycling of polyethylene terephthalate to commodity chemicals and H2 fuel
Plastic upcycling to value-added products is of great interests. Here the authors investigate a nickel-cobalt phosphide electrocatalyst for electroreforming of polyethylene terephthalate plastic toward valuable potassium diformate, terephthalic acid, and

Pivalolactone, 1 interchange reactions with polypivalolactone [PDF]
Ester interchange, alcoholysis, and acidolysis of polypivalolactone (PPVL) were studied by melting PPVL with bisphenol diacetates, 1, 4-butanediol, or aromatic diacids.

The acute toxicity of terephthalic acid and its sodium salt, the effect of terephthalic acid administration on liver and renal functions, and the chemical composition of blood plasma were studied. LD50 of terephthalic acid in mice was found to be more than 5000 mg/kg by oral administration and 1430 mg/kg by intraperitoneal injection.
