Term Proximity Scoring for Keyword-Based Retrieval Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This paper suggests the use of proximity measurement in combination with the Okapi probabilistic model. First, using the Okapi system, our investigation was carried out in a distributed retrieval framework to calculate the same relevance score as that achieved by a single centralized index.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Proximité familiale et organisation résidentielle de la parentèle dans les élites d’une ville d’Europe du Sud. L’exemple de Naples

open access: yesArticulo: Journal of Urban Research, 2009
Numerous studies have stressed the importance of the residential proximity of family members in southern Europe. Far fewer studies, however, have examined this phenomenon within the upper social classes, where familial proximity reaches record levels, or

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Demand flexibility modelling for long term optimal distribution grid planning

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2022
Optimisation tools for long‐term grid planning considering flexibility resources require aggregated flexibility models that are not too computationally demanding or complex.

Named Entity Based Ranking with Term Proximity for XML Retrieval

open access: yes, 2018
In this article, an indexing scheme that includes the named entity category for each indexed term is proposed. Based on this, two methods are proposed, one to infer the semantics of an XML element based on its data content, called the confidence value of

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Document-Term Clustering: Proximity of Subjects Correspond with Psychology of Marriage in Biomedicine Literature during the Years “1990-99” and “2000-2008”

open access: yesمدیریت اطلاعات سلامت, 2010
Introduction: The study on psychology of marriage rooted in the social issues. The field has also found its way to biomedicine. The current research, based on the document-term clustering methods, focus on term-proximity of documents that were related to
