Similarity Ratio Based Adaptive Mahalanobis Distance Algorithm to Generate SAR Superpixels
Superpixel algorithms are aimed to partition an image into multiple similar sized segments based on similarity and proximity of pixels. In the heterogeneous regions, the boundaries of the objects should adhere well to the superpixels, and in the ...

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Dopamine Modulation of Reunion Behavior in Short and Long Term Marmoset Pairs
One major neurobiological substrate regulating social processes is dopamine (DA). DA is implicated in social behavior in species as diverse as fish and birds, and has an established role in regulating relationships between mates in socially monogamous ...

Constructing proximity: relating to readers in popular and professional science [PDF]
The view of academic discourse as a rhetorical activity involving interactions between writers and readers is now central to most perspectives on EAP, but these interactions are conducted differently in different disciplinary and generic contexts.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Proximal humerus chondrosarcoma. Long-term clinical and oncological outcomes
The proximal humerus is a common site for primary bone sarcomas, of which chondrosarcoma represents 15%. There are few reports about this select group of tumours. We set out to analyse a group of patients with proximal humerus chondrosarcoma treated with surgery and to assess their long term surgical and oncological outcomes.A retrospective review was ...

Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Geography of Scientific Knowledge: A Proximity Approach [PDF]
The geography of scientific knowledge is defined as the replication process of locally produced knowledge claims. Proximity in social, cognitive, and physical dimensions promotes the sharing of tacit knowledge.

Studies often use behavioral responses to detect the impact of given disturbances on animals. However, the observation of these short-term responses can often lead to contradicting results.
