Parallel Extraction of Long-term Trends and Short-term Fluctuation Framework for Multivariate Time Series Forecasting [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Multivariate time series forecasting is widely used in various fields. Reasonable prediction results can assist people in planning and decision-making, generate benefits and avoid risks. Normally, there are two characteristics of time series, that is, long-term trend and short-term fluctuation.

Characteristics of the Kelch domain containing (KLHDC) subfamily and relationships with diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Kelch protein superfamily includes 63 members, with the KLHDC subfamily having 10 proteins. While their functions are not fully understood, recent advances in KLHDC2's structure and role in protein degradation have highlighted its potential for drug development, especially in PROTAC therapies.

MOZAIC Time-Term Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Journal International, 1976
Summary The time-term approach to the interpretation of refraction travel-time data is extended to deal with observation systems which are not, at first sight, suitable for time-term analysis. This so-called MOZAIC method is based on the premise that there exist areas of equal delay time to any refractor and that the distribution of such areas can ...

‘Individual sovereignty’ in pandemic times – A contradiction in terms?

open access: yesPolitical Geography, 2021
During the Covid-19 pandemic, appeals to ‘individual sovereignty’ have brought together a wide range of political actors across Europe, united in their rejection of face masks, ‘social distancing’, and other forms of state-imposed regulation of behavior and mobility.

Making tau amyloid models in vitro: a crucial and underestimated challenge

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review highlights the challenges of producing in vitro amyloid assemblies of the tau protein. We review how accurately the existing protocols mimic tau deposits found in the brain of patients affected with tauopathies. We discuss the important properties that should be considered when forming amyloids and the benchmarks that should be used to ...

The solution supramolecular structure of α2 → 8 polysialic acid suggests a structural cause for its low immunogenicity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
α2 → 8 polysialic acid elicits poor immunogenicity. Small‐angle scattering shows a supramolecular structure with parallel‐chain binding, although in different forms at μm and mm calcium. The major histocompatibility complex requires molecular weights around 2000 Da to produce antibodies, and 2000 Da polysialic oligomers will bind in these structures ...

Multiple D2-Brane Action from M2-Branes [PDF]

open access: yesInt.J.Mod.Phys.A24:3039-3052,2009, 2008
We study the detail derivation of the multiple D2-brane effective action from multiple M2-branes in the Bagger-Lambert-Gustavsson (BLG) theory and the Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) theory by employing the novel Higgs mechanism. We show explicitly that the high-order F^3 and F^4 terms are commutator terms, and conjecture that all the high ...

Long-term timing of four millisecond pulsars [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy and Astrophysics, 2010
We have timed four millisecond pulses, PSRs J1721-2457, J1745-0952, J1810-2005, and J1918-0642, for up to a total of 10.5 years each using multiple telescopes in the European Pulsar Timing Array network: the Westerbork Synthesis Radio Telescope in The Netherlands, the Nancay Radio Telescope in France and the Lovell telescope at Jodrell Bank in the UK ...

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.

TFDNet: Time-Frequency Enhanced Decomposed Network for Long-term Time Series Forecasting [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Long-term time series forecasting is a vital task and has a wide range of real applications. Recent methods focus on capturing the underlying patterns from one single domain (e.g. the time domain or the frequency domain), and have not taken a holistic view to process long-term time series from the time-frequency domains.
