Compostable and Recyclable Baroplastic Triblock Copolymers Enable Low‐Energy Polymer Processing

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 37, 2 July 2026.
Baroplastic Poly(L‐lactide)‐block‐poly(ethylene glycol)‐block‐poly(L‐lactide) triblock copolymers enable ambient‐temperature processing under moderate pressure, reducing energy demand while preserving polymer integrity. The materials show rapid industrial compostability, effective chemical and physical recyclability, and compatibility with heat ...

Autonomous and Communicative Microcapsule Systems for Life‐Like Homeostatic pH Regulation

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 37, 2 July 2026.
A dual‐microcapsule system mimicking biological homeostasis is developed, enabling programmable pH oscillations through antagonistic enzymatic feedback. Monodisperse urease and esterase capsules, produced via hybrid‐junction 3D‐printed microfluidics with epoxy‐modified channels, exhibit adaptive shell permeability and inter‐capsule communication.

Mapping Waste Trends: A Case Study of Odiongan Municipality's Waste Analysis and Characterization

open access: yesEnvironmental Quality Management, Volume 36, Issue 1, July 2026.
ABSTRACT The Municipality of Odiongan, Romblon is a rapidly developing rural area in the Philippines that is experiencing significant solid waste management challenges due to its growing population and limited infrastructure capacity. Addressing these issues is essential for developing a powerful Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP) that can guide waste ...

Myosin Post‐Translational Modifications Associated With Critical Illness Myopathy

open access: yesActa Physiologica, Volume 242, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Critical illness myopathy is a common and devastating consequence of critical care, causing dramatic loss of muscle mass and function in intensive care unit patients. Functional deficits often exceed the loss in muscle mass and myosin content.
