Phylogenetic relationships between adenoviruses as inferred from nucleotide sequences of inverted terminal repeats

Gene, 1987
The nucleotide (nt) sequences of inverted terminal repeats (ITR) from human adenovirus (Ad) 19, bovine Ad1 (BAd1), bovine Ad3 (BAd3), canine Ad2 (CAd2) and an avian Ad, EDS-76, were determined. The length of the ITR sequence was 160 bp in Ad19, 159 bp in BAd1, 195 bp in BAd3, 196 bp in CAd2 and 52 bp in EDS-76.

Terminal repeats of the drosophila transposable element copia: Nucleotide sequence and genomic organization

Cell, 1980
We have determined the nucleotide sequence of the terminal regions of two members of the copia sequence family of D. melanogaster. The first 276 bp at one end of a copia element are repeated in direct orientation at its other end. The direct repeats on a single copia element are identical to each other, but they differ by two nucleotide substitutions ...

Long terminal repeat of friend-MCF virus contains the sequence responsible for erythroid leukemia

Virology, 1985
Friend-MCF virus induces erythroid leukemia when injected into newborn NFS mice whereas Moloney virus induces T-cell lymphoma. To identify the portion of Friend-MCF virus responsible for erythroid leukemia induction four in vitro recombinant viruses were constructed in which env regions or U3 regions of LTR were reciprocally exchanged between Friend ...

Nucleotide sequence analysis of the long terminal repeat of integrated caprine arthritis encephalitis virus

Virus Research, 1986
The nucleotide sequence of the long terminal repeat (LTR) of caprine arthritis encephalitis virus (CAEV), a prototype lentivirus was determined. 6-bp directly repeated host cell sequences flank the 376-bp proviral LTRs. By comparison with other retroviral sequences, the CAEV LTR likely contains U3, R and U5 regions 207, 86 and 83 base-pairs in length ...

Long Terminal Repeat Sequence Analysis of HTLV-2 Molecular Variants Identified in Southern Brazil

AIDS Research and Human Retroviruses, 2010
In Brazil, human T-lymphotropic virus type 2 (HTLV-2) is endemic in Amerindians and epidemic in intravenous drug users (IDUs). The long terminal repeat (LTR) is the most divergent genomic region of HTLV-2, therefore useful to characterize subtypes. Nucleotide sequence and restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis of LTR genomic segments ...

Sequence variations and promoter activities of long terminal repeats from rat intracisternal A-particles

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Gene Structure and Expression, 1992
Nucleotide sequences of three novel rat long terminal repeats (LTR) of intracisternal A-particles (IAP) were determined and compared with two previously published solitary rat IAP LTRs from the genomic clone H12 (Furter et al. (1989) J. Biol. Chem. 264, 18276-18279) and from the upstream region of the oncomodulin (OM) gene (Banville and Boie (1989) J ...

Tissue selectivity of murine leukemia virus infection is determined by long terminal repeat sequences

Journal of Virology, 1985
Here we show that the tissue specificity of murine retrovirus infections is determined by the long terminal repeat (LTR) of an otherwise isogenic set of viruses. The isogenic viruses used for this study contain the coding gag, pol, and env genes of the avirulent Akv virus. Recombinant viruses that contain the LTR of a virus that induces T-cell leukemia

RETROVIRAL EXPRESSION VECTORS ON THE BASIS OF HERV- LONG TERMINAL REPEAT SEQUENCES

2001
