Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

The Equivalence between Uniqueness and Continuous Dependence of Solution for BDSDEs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, we prove that, if the coefficient f = f(t; y; z) of backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs for short) is assumed to be continuous and linear growth in (y; z); then the uniqueness of solution and continuous dependence ...

How to find horizon-independent optimal strategies leading off to infinity: a max-plus approach

open access: yes, 2006
A general problem in optimal control consists of finding a terminal reward that makes the value function independent of the horizon. Such a terminal reward can be interpreted as a max-plus eigenvector of the associated Lax-Oleinik semigroup.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Adaptive Trust Evaluation Model Based on Entropy Weight Method for Sensing Terminal Process

open access: yesEntropy
Remote sensing (RS) has been widely used for data acquisition, monitoring, control, and intelligent decision-making. However, most of them are unattended and easily become the target of attack, which means there are still some risks in the sensing ...

Function of the Signal Peptide and N- and C-terminal Propeptides in the Leucine Aminopeptidase from \u3cem\u3eAeromonas proteolytica\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The leucine aminopeptidase from Aeromonas proteolytica (also known as Vibrio proteolyticus) (AAP) is a metalloenzyme with broad substrate specificity. The open reading frame (ORF) for AAP encodes a 54 kDa enzyme, however, the extracellular enzyme has a ...

A continuous time tug-of-war game for parabolic $p(x,t)$-Laplace type equations

open access: yes, 2018
We formulate a stochastic differential game in continuous time that represents the unique viscosity solution to a terminal value problem for a parabolic partial differential equation involving the normalized $p(x,t)$-Laplace operator.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

A study on RFID adoption for vehicle tracking in container terminal

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Engineering and Management, 2012
Purpose: Numerous studies discuss that Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology can provide better container handling efficiency; however, relative lack of research concerns the tracking and monitoring the movement of vehicle in the container ...
