Robust Solution of the Multi-Model Singular Linear-Quadratic Optimal Control Problem: Regularization Approach

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
We consider a finite horizon multi-model linear-quadratic optimal control problem. For this problem, we treat the case where the problem’s functional does not contain a control function. The latter means that the problem under consideration is a singular

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

A Class of Itô Diffusions with Known Terminal Value and Specified Optimal Barrier

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
In this paper, we study the optimal stopping-time problems related to a class of Itô diffusions, modeling for example an investment gain, for which the terminal value is a priori known.

Terminal value problems of impulsive integro‐differential equations in Banach spaces [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Stochastic Analysis, 1996
This paper uses cone theory and the monotone iterative technique to investigate the existence of minimal nonnegative solutions of terminal value problems for first order nonlinear impulsive integro‐differential equations of mixed type in a Banach space.

Photon Avalanching Nanoparticles: The Next Generation of Upconverting Nanomaterials?

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective outlines the mechanistic foundations that enable photon‐avalanche (PA) behavior in lanthanide nanomaterials and contrasts them with emerging application spaces and forward‐looking design strategies. By bridging threshold engineering, energy‐transfer dynamics, and materials engineering, we provide a coherent roadmap for advancing the ...

Dynamic robust duality in utility maximization

open access: yes, 2015
A celebrated financial application of convex duality theory gives an explicit relation between the following two quantities: (i) The optimal terminal wealth $X^*(T) : = X_{\varphi^*}(T)$ of the problem to maximize the expected $U$-utility of the ...
