Quantum coherence and its dephasing in the giant spin Hall effect and nonlocal voltage generated by magnetotransport through multiterminal graphene bars

open access: yes, 2011
Motivated by the recent experimental observation [D. A. Abanin et al., Science 323, 328 (2011)] of nonlocality in magnetotransport near the Dirac point in six-terminal graphene Hall bars, for a wide range of temperatures and magnetic fields, we develop a

Determination of the solution of a stochastic parabolic equation by the terminal value

open access: yesInverse Problems, 2022
Abstract This paper studies the inverse problem of determination the history for a stochastic diffusion process, by means of the value at the final time T. By establishing a new Carleman estimate, the conditional stability of the problem is proven. Based on the idea of Tikhonov method, a regularized solution is proposed.

Two Faces of NOTCH1 in Childhood Lymphoblastic T‐Cell Neoplasia: Prognostic Divergence of Mutational and Structural Aberrations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In pediatric patients, T‐cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T‐LBL) survival exceeds 80%. Relapse remains associated with limited curative options. Frontline treatment is largely extrapolated from T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) treatment, reflecting the ongoing debate, whether both entities represent distinct diseases or variants within ...

Uniqueness of solution to scalar BSDEs with $L\protect \qopname{}{o}{exp}\left(\mu _0\protect \sqrt{2\protect \qopname{}{o}{log}(1+L)}\right)$-integrable terminal values: an $L^1$-solution approach

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique, 2021
This paper deals with a class of scalar backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs) with $L\exp (\mu _0\sqrt{2\log (1+L)})$-integrable terminal values for a critical parameter $\mu _0>0$.

Measurement of adenosine triphosphate and some other metabolites in blood cells by isotachophoresis. I. Preparative technique and enzymatic confirmation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
This study investigated the optimal conditions for detection of nucleotides in blood using an IP-1B capillary isotachophoretic apparatus. The system used 10 mM HCl-beta-alanine (pH 4.2) as the leading electrolyte and n-caproic acid as the terminal ...

Terminal Care and the Value of Life Near its End [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2010
Medical care at the end of life, estimated to contribute up to a quarter of US health care spending, often encounters skepticism from payers and policy makers who question its high cost and often minimal health benefits. It seems generally agreed upon that medical resources are being wasted on excessive care for end-of-life treatments that often only ...

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Contrast Enhanced Abdominal Ultrasound in the Assessment of Ileal Inflammation in Crohn's Disease: A Comparison with MR Enterography. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
To prospectively examine the feasibility and accuracy of Contrast Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS) in the assessment of Crohn's disease (CD) activity in the terminal ileum in comparison to Magnetic Resonance Enterography (MRE), using endoscopy as a reference ...
