Durabilidade natural do estipe de pupunha (Bactris gasipaes Kunth, Arecaceae) II: insetos Natural durability of Bactris gasipaes Kunth (peach palm, Arecaceae) stipe II: insects

open access: yesActa Amazonica, 2004
Neste trabalho estão apresentados os resultados da durabilidade natural do estipe (madeira) de Bactris gasipaes Kunth (pupunha), quando submetido ao ataque de insetos xilófagos, em ensaios em ambiente florestal e urbano.

Diverse Rhinotermitidae and Termitidae (Isoptera) in Dominican Amber [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Museum Novitates, 2009
Abstract The most diverse and best-preserved paleofauna of the higher termites heretofore known, all found in Miocene amber of the Dominican Republic, is described. The imago of Coptotermes priscus Emerson is redescribed, and the soldier of C. priscus, the first known fossil soldier of this genus, is described.

Mutual use of trail-following chemical cues by a termite host and its inquiline.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Termite nests are often secondarily inhabited by other termite species ( = inquilines) that cohabit with the host. To understand this association, we studied the trail-following behaviour in two Neotropical species, Constrictotermes cyphergaster ...

Spiralitermes jurupari, a New Genus and Species of Soldierless Termites (Blattodea: Termitidae) From the Amazon Rainforest

open access: yesAustral Entomology, Volume 65, Issue 3, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The soldierless termites of Apicotermitinae exhibit highly varied digestive tract morphology, with the first proctodeal segment being one of the most commonly used features in genus diagnosis. In this study, we describe Spiralitermes jurupari Almeida‐Azevedo & Azevedo gen. et sp. nov., from the Amazon Rainforest.

Complete Genome Sequence of Sporomusa termitida DSM 4440 T

open access: yesMicrobiology Resource Announcements, 2020
Sporomusa termitida type strain DSM 4440 was isolated from the intestinal content of the termite Nasutitermes nigriceps . The genome consists of one circular chromosome (5,185,220 bp) and a megaplasmid (131,121 bp) with an overall G+C content of 49.11%. It harbors 4,764 predicted protein-encoding genes.
