Conformal Contact Terms and Semi-local Terms [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Henri Poincaré, 2020
We study conformal properties of local terms such as contact terms and semi-local terms in correlation functions of a conformal field theory. Not all of them are universal observables but they do appear in physically important correlation functions such as (anomalous) Ward-Takahashi identities or Schwinger-Dynson equations.

Treatment Decision‐Making Roles and Preferences Among Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Decision‐making (DM) dynamics between adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer, parents, and oncologists remain underexplored in diverse populations. We examined cancer treatment DM preferences among an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse group of AYAs and their parents.

General soft terms from Supergravity including D-terms

open access: yes, 2005
We derive general expressions for soft terms in supergravity where D-terms contribute significantly to the supersymmetry breaking. Such D-terms can produce large splitting between scalar and fermionic partners in the spectrum.

Galileons as Wess-Zumino Terms

open access: yes, 2012
We show that the galileons can be thought of as Wess-Zumino terms for the spontaneous breaking of space-time symmetries. Wess-Zumino terms are terms which are not captured by the coset construction for phenomenological Lagrangians with broken symmetries.

Nambu-Goldstone Fields, Anomalies and WZ Terms [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We construct the Wess-Zumino terms from anomalies in case of quasigroups for the following situations. One is effective gauge field theories of Nambu-Goldstone fields associated with spontaneously broken global symmetries and the other is anomalous gauge

To the basics of clinical thinking formalization. Main terms with conceptual meaning

open access: yesМедицина болю, 2020
Medicine’s condition is one of the most relevant scientific and socio-economic problems of the mankind. Eclecticism, presence of multiple contradictions and compilations are typical at the modern stage of it as of a knowledge system.

Parent Quality of Life at Two Years Following Their Child's Completion of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.

Newton constant, contact terms and entropy

open access: yes, 2015
We discuss the renormalization of the Newton constant due to fields of various spin $s$. We first briefly review the cases of $s=0, \, 1/2, \, 1,\, 3/2$ already discussed in the literature and notice the appearance of the well-known contact terms for the

Rapid Response to Trametinib Combined With Chemotherapy for Infant BRAF‐Fused Chiasmatic Glioma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Infants, less than 1 year, with chiasmatic gliomas (ICG) present a major therapeutic challenge due to large tumor size, decreased vision, rapid progression, and poor response to vincristine/carboplatin chemotherapy. The majority have a BRAF fusion, which may respond to downstream MEK inhibitors but response time is slow. There are no safety or

An Ontology for Grounding Vague Geographic Terms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Many geographic terms, such as “river” and “lake”, are vague, with no clear boundaries of application. In particular, the spatial extent of such features is often vaguely carved out of a continuously varying observable domain.
