Soil phosphorus drives subcontinental patterns of carbon isotope discrimination across Australia
Summary Several transects have been established to study the sensitivity of carbon isotope discrimination (Δ13C) in woody plants to mean annual precipitation (MAP) across Australia. These have shown a surprising divergence in Δ13C‐MAP sensitivity among subcontinental regions.

HPAI H5N1 was confirmed in 22 South Polar Skuas and one Kelp Gull on Dismal and Horseshoe Islands, Marguerite Bay, Western Antarctic Peninsula in early 2025, with high mortalities consistent with global trends. Rapid antigen tests showed 90% agreement with rRT‐PCR, supporting their utility for early detection in remote environments.

In this follow‐up of a randomized controlled trial including 1911 primiparous women with a vaginal birth, minor and major second‐degree tears were not associated with pelvic floor dysfunction 1 year postpartum. OASI was associated with colorectal–anal symptoms, whereas episiotomy was associated with vaginal symptoms affecting body image.
