Ternary arithmetic, factorization, and the class number one problem [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Ordinary binary multiplication of natural numbers can be generalized in a non-trivial way to a ternary operation by considering discrete volumes of lattice hexagons. With this operation, a natural notion of `3-primality' -- primality with respect to ternary multiplication -- is defined, and it turns out that there are very few 3-primes. They correspond

Identification of inhibitors of the Salmonella FraB deglycase, a drug target

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A high‐throughput screen was used to identify inhibitors of Salmonella FraB, a drug target. Characterization of top hits (identified after an additional counter screen) revealed that some triazolidines, thiadiazolidines, and triazolothiadiazoles are mixed‐type inhibitors of FraB.

Characterisation of the role played by ELMO1, GPR141 and the intergenic polymorphism rs918980 in Fuchs' dystrophy in the Indian population

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study reports the upregulation of ELMO1 and GPR141 in human Fuchs' endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) corneal endothelium and ultraviolet A‐induced FECD mice model. A genetic association of an intergenic single nucleotide polymorphism rs918980 present between both genes is observed with FECD in the Indian population.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) prediction for oropharyngeal cancer based on CT by using off‐the‐shelf features: A dual‐dataset study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background This study aims to develop a novel predictive model for determining human papillomavirus (HPV) presence in oropharyngeal cancer using computed tomography (CT). Current image‐based HPV prediction methods are hindered by high computational demands or suboptimal performance.

Demonstration of 3.5 MWth Parabolic Trough With Ternary Molten Salt at the Évora Molten Salt Platform

open access: yesSolarPACES Conference Proceedings
Commercial solar thermal parabolic trough power plants use thermal oil as a heat transfer medium in the solar field. Within the framework of the “High Performance Solar 2” (HPS2) research project a molten salt parabolic trough demonstration plant was ...

Layers of knot region colorings and higher differentials [PDF]

open access: yes, 1927
We inductively define layers of colorings of knot and knotted surface diagrams using ternary quasigroups. Homological invariants from such systems of colorings use shorter differentials and of higher degree than the standard homology differentials, and ...

Rotated Projection Product of a Ternary Number and its Application in the Kinematical Analysis of the Articulated Robot

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2016
As a new type of specially defined pluralized vector model, the ternary number has the naturally intuitive geometric significance and it is especially helps to the three-dimensional modeling for a spatial problem.
