A general synthesis of (2Z)-terpenoic acids
Tetrahedron Letters, 2000Abstract A three-step synthesis of (2 Z ), (4 E )-polyenic acids 6 is described. Condensation of aldehydes 1 with potassium prenal enolate led to dihydropyranols 3 which were oxidized into dihydropyrones 5 , precursors of (2 Z) , (4 E )-polyenic acids 6 .

Terpenoic acid glycerides from the dorid nudibranch
Tetrahedron Letters, 1984Abstract Extracts of the dorid nudibranch Archidoris montereyensis contain a diterpenoic acid glyceride 1 whose structure has been determined by x-ray diffraction analysis. The structure of a minor metabolite, the sesquiterpenoic acid glyceride 2, was determined by chemical correlation.

Terpeno-p-hydroxybenzoic acid derivatives from Rapanea umbellata
Phytochemistry, 1991Abstract The leaves of Rapanea umbellata yielded three terpeno- p -hydroxybenzoic acid derivatives which appear to be novel. These compounds were identified on the basis of spectroscopic analysis as 3-geranyl-4-hydroxy-5-(3″,3″-dimethylallyl)-benzoic acid; 5-carboxy-7-(3″,3″-dimethylallyl)- 2-(1′-hydroxy-1′,5′-dimethylhex-4′-enyl)-2,3 ...

Abstract The application of a very selective chiral stationary phase (Celite coated with α-cyclodextrin in formamide solution) to gas—liquid chromatography is described. A new convenient method for determination of the enantiomeric purity of terpenoic hydrocarbons, e.g., α-pinene, β-pinene, cis-pinane, trans-pinane and 2-carene, based on complete ...

Do ion trap and quadrupole lead to identical results in the analysis of terpenoic compounds?
Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, 1989Abstract The ion trap detector (ITD) is effective in the analysis of terpenoic mixtures from essential oils. ITD spectra are compared in library searches with spectra from a quadrupole mass spectrometer. ITD generally leads to lower FIT values, although its efficiency in terms of structural identification is comparable to that of ...
