Food webs on green roofs are unique but less robust than their ground‐level counterparts

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 2, February 2026.
Green roofs operate as distinct habitats, offering novel environmental conditions, thus increasing urban habitat diversity and supporting denser but less robust food webs compared with ground‐level habitats. Increasing substrate depth and allowing for long‐term development can promote trophic diversity and robustness, informing strategies for urban ...

The power of the past: materializing collective memory at early medieval lordly centres

open access: yesEarly Medieval Europe, Volume 34, Issue 1, Page 34-69, February 2026.

Pan‐Arctic Peatlands Have Expanded During Recent Warming

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 2, February 2026.
Arctic peatland carbon is important because it represents a large carbon stock that may be vulnerable to climate change. This work explores the expansion and/or shrinkage of Arctic peatlands using observations in two north–south transects in Canada and in Europe.

Lake Unloading Drives Fault Slip and Rift Asymmetry in Southern Tibet

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 2, 28 January 2026.
Abstract The extent to which surface processes drive continental deformation remains a pivotal question in geodynamics. Here, we demonstrate that Late Quaternary lake‐water unloading is a primary driver of fault slip and rift asymmetry in southern Tibet.
