In this report, we demonstrate that a crystalline phase of 52nm thick NiFe2O4 can be grown by RF sputtering on top of γ‐Al2O3(8nm)/SrTiO3 at a significantly low temperature (150 °C) without compromising the mobility and carrier density of the 2D electron gas at the γ‐Al2O3(8nm)/SrTiO3 interface.

Coastal Terraces, Sea Level, and Active Tectonics [PDF]
In this exercise, students investigate the use of coastal landforms from ancient shorelines in studying tectonic movements. Introductory materials explain how coastal landforms are classified on the basis of sediment supply and positions of the land ...

Structure and Stability of Si(114)-(2x1)
We describe a recently discovered stable planar surface of silicon, Si(114). This high-index surface, oriented 19.5 degrees away from (001) toward (111), undergoes a 2x1 reconstruction.

Fluorine‐Free Soft Nanocomposites for High‐Speed Liquid Impact Repellence
Fluorine‐free soft nanocomposite coatings are developed using silicone oil‐mediated mechanical‐stiffness control, enabling ‘dry’ liquid‐repellent surfaces that resist high‐speed water jet impacts up to ∼60 m/s. By tuning nanoparticle loading and oil content, the coatings also achieve >90% optical transparency, amphiphobicity with impact resistance to ...

Formation of atom wires on vicinal silicon
The formation of atomic wires via pseudomorphic step-edge decoration on vicinal silicon surfaces has been analyzed for Ga on the Si(112) surface using Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Density Functional Theory calculations. Based on a chemical potential

Cerna River terraces between Bãile Herculane and Orsova [PDF]
This study displays a detailed analysis of Cerna river terraces along its final 20 km (its lower reach). The main working method was the field charting during a number of campaigns. The starting point were previous studies concerning Cerna river Valley,
