From Lab to Landscape: Environmental Biohybrid Robotics for Ecological Futures
This Perspective explores environmental biohybrid robotics, integrating living tissues, microorganisms, and insects for operation in real‐world ecosystems. It traces the leap from laboratory experiments to forests, wetlands, and urban environments and discusses key challenges, development pathways, and opportunities for ecological monitoring and ...

The Role of Plant Litter in Driving Plant-Soil Feedbacks
Most studies focusing on plant-soil feedbacks (PSFs) have considered direct interactions between plants, abiotic conditions (e. g., soil nutrients) and rhizosphere communities (e.g., pathogens, mutualists). However, few studies have addressed the role of

Long‐Term Elevated CO2 Improves Soil Health and Rice Yields in Paddy Fields
Combining the two longest‐running rice free‐air CO2 enrichment experiments with a global data synthesis, this study demonstrates that long‐term elevated CO2 consistently enhances soil health. In rice paddies, this improvement sustains the CO2 fertilization effect over decades.

Combining tower mixing ratio and community model data to estimate regional-scale net ecosystem carbon exchange by boundary layer inversion over 4 flux towers in the U.S.A. [PDF]
We evaluated an idealized boundary layer (BL) model with simple parameterizations using vertical transport information from community model outputs (NCAR/NCEP Reanalysis and ECMWF Interim Analysis) to estimate regional-scale net CO2 fluxes from 2002 to ...

Generalized Mechanism Model for Ecosystem Hysteresis
A simplified model examines ecosystem transitions into alternative states after disturbances by leveraging positive and negative feedbacks. It identifies critical tipping points and quantifies hysteresis. Tests conducted on lakes, grasslands, and pitcher‐plant leaves align closely with empirical data and enable the prediction of recovery trajectories ...

Characterization of Fuel Types for the Canadian Region Using MODIS MCD12Q1 Data
The characterization and mapping of fuel types is one of the most important factors to consider in the development of accurate fire behavior models. This study introduces a new methodology for generating a fuel map that can be easily updated on an annual

India in international climate governance: Through soft power from REDD to REDD+ policy in favor of relative gains [PDF]
This paper seeks to examine India’s role in the politics of a specific climate change mitigation policy called “Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, and enhancing forest carbon stocks in developing countries (REDD+)”. It explores
