Demographic trends and its relationship with spatial cohesion in the functional urban areas of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain)

open access: yesBoletín de la Asociación de Geógrafos Españoles, 2018
Demographic dynamics and its relationship to territorial cohesion in the Functional Urban Areas of Castilla-La Mancha. European Spatial Development Perspective proposed the creation of Functional Urban Areas (FUA) as territorial systems that help to ...

Sleep Alters the Velocity of Physiological Brain Pulsations in Humans

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sleep alters I/CSF oscillatory flow, driven by increased respiratory (29%) and vasomotor pulsation (21%) velocities, while cardiovascular pulsations decreased by (22%). Velocity is quantified using optical flow analysis of MREG data. Spectral power increases alongside these pulsations (spatial correlation, r = 0.35 and r = 0.39, respectively ...

A CONCEPTUAL OVERVIEW OF TERRITORIAL COHESION [PDF]

open access: yesAnalele Universităţii Constantin Brâncuşi din Târgu Jiu : Seria Economie, 2014
Territorial cohesion is a complex concept that cannot be explained by a single definition. During the previous decades, territorial issues represented, undoubtedly, subjects of interest for various policy documents, actions and funding of the European ...

Solution in Search of a Problem: A 'Garbage Can' Approach to the Politics of Territorial Cohesion

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Spatial Development, 2012
Those who promote spatial planning or spatial policy at the European level have increasingly done so under the banner of ‘territorial cohesion’. Since the inclusion of this term in the draft Constitution as an objective of the European Union, territorial

Material‐Induced Nuclear Deformation Controls Chromatin Architecture in Adipose Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tuning cell and cytoskeleton mechanics modulated nuclear shape and heterochromatin organization in ASCs. Distinct cytoskeletal architectures induced nuclear morphologies from oblate to prolate ellipsoids. Large elongated cells with a structured actin cap exhibited high nuclear strain, driving nuclear envelope deformation and heterochromatin ...

Adult Sex Ratio as a Demographic Feedback Linking Mating Systems, Parental Care, and Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Breeding systems are some of the most diverse social behavior, and our team is investigation the evolutionary causes of this diversity. This review summarises our research carried out at the University of Bath. We argue that demographic components of wild populations, especially the adult sex ratio, plays a key role driving breeding system variation ...

Tunable Negative Thermal Expansion in Fe/Cr‐Substituted Nd2Co17 Compounds via Magnetoelastic Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study achieves anisotropic thermal expansion tuning in Nd2(Co1‐xFex)17‐yCry compounds via a magnetoelastic strategy. Variable‐temperature synchrotron X‐ray diffraction reveals that increased Fe content induces switchable lattice responses. Compositional control reduces the volume expansion coefficient αV by 20% (x═0.7) and modulates TC (442–625 K),

Investigating Phase Separation in Genome Folding via Multiscale Computational Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phase separation is emerging as a multiscale organizing principle of genome folding across scales, from nucleosomes and transcriptional condensates to chromatin domains and nuclear compartments. By integrating physics‐based simulations with data‐driven inference, computational modeling now links molecular interactions to nuclear architecture and points

2023–2027 CAP First Pillar Reform and Livestock Sector: Production and Economic Impacts on Italian Specialized Dairy Cattle Farms

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The present study uses an agroeconomic supply model to assess the impacts of 2023–2027 CAP on Italian specialized dairy cattle farms. The model considers the voluntary choice of Eco‐Scheme 1, specifically addressed to livestock farms, through the implementation of binary variables.
