Conversion of Transplanted Mature Hepatocytes into Afp+ Reprogrammed Cells for Liver Regeneration After Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Donor‐derived tdTomato+ mature hepatocytes were FACS‐isolated and transplanted into Fah−/− host mice. During regeneration, these cells convert into proliferative, unipotent Afp+ rHeps. Their plasticity is governed by a PPARγ/AFP‐dependent metabolic switch, segregating into pro‐proliferative Afplow and pro‐survival Afphigh subpopulations.

Adult Sex Ratio as a Demographic Feedback Linking Mating Systems, Parental Care, and Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Breeding systems are some of the most diverse social behavior, and our team is investigation the evolutionary causes of this diversity. This review summarises our research carried out at the University of Bath. We argue that demographic components of wild populations, especially the adult sex ratio, plays a key role driving breeding system variation ...

Tunable Negative Thermal Expansion in Fe/Cr‐Substituted Nd2Co17 Compounds via Magnetoelastic Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study achieves anisotropic thermal expansion tuning in Nd2(Co1‐xFex)17‐yCry compounds via a magnetoelastic strategy. Variable‐temperature synchrotron X‐ray diffraction reveals that increased Fe content induces switchable lattice responses. Compositional control reduces the volume expansion coefficient αV by 20% (x═0.7) and modulates TC (442–625 K),

THE ROLE OF TERRITORIAL COHESION AS THE BASIS OF EUROPEAN SPATIAL PLANNING [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The European Union regional policy has undoubtedly been a key to the European integration process. Its main purpose, originally, was to correct territorial imbalances between different EU states and regions.

EU Policies and Strategies and Territorial Cohesion

open access: yes, 2023
Territorial cohesion is an EU concept and, in recent decades, several EU policies, such as the EU Cohesion Policy, have contributed decisively to promoting territorial development in socioeconomically lagging EU regions. It resembles a European political ideal that collectively we try to achieve, but without knowing very well what it is.

Understanding the Interplay Between Thermal Activation, Diffusion, and Phase Segregation of Molecular Dopants Blended with Polymeric Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The use of air stable but thermally labile molecules provides an efficient strategy for the N‐type doping of organic semiconductors with relatively low electron affinities. Design criteria for efficient dopants should also take into account diffusion and phase segregation that cannot be decoupled from thermally activated doping.

2023–2027 CAP First Pillar Reform and Livestock Sector: Production and Economic Impacts on Italian Specialized Dairy Cattle Farms

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The present study uses an agroeconomic supply model to assess the impacts of 2023–2027 CAP on Italian specialized dairy cattle farms. The model considers the voluntary choice of Eco‐Scheme 1, specifically addressed to livestock farms, through the implementation of binary variables.

Leveraging Wind Energy for Electricity and Hydrogen Production: A Sustainable Solution to Power Shortages and Eco‐Friendly Alternative Fuel

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
The article attracts researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders in renewable energy, hydrogen, and sustainable development, as it addresses the critical need for clean, efficient energy solutions. By evaluating the technical, environmental, and economic feasibility of integrating wind energy with hydrogen production. The findings offer significant
