Application of terror management theory in a pandemic
Hoi Ting Leung applied the Terror Management Health Model to understand pandemic behaviours. She found that pandemics have an effect on death thoughts and pandemic behaviours. She also found that self-construal can potentially moderate the effects of pandemics on social distancing measures and prosociality by encouraging more of these behaviours.
